Spoilers The thing in bay 12

Well Cawley was posting pics of his TNG set construction ages ago. I'm now unsure if it was built with Picard in mind or if it's the same builds or what.
It’s just taking time. I really want to go there someday but it’s way in the middle of nowhere.

You can say I'm weirdo but to me the most beautiful and impressive version of the Enterprise-D ship is the one from season 1 of Picard. Man it looks so real and metallic:

And this is from the last episode:

That reminds me, forgot to post it earlier (so many thoughts about that episode and so many posts to read): Both have 3 lights in the bussards, not 2 as in TNG

Unrelated, but "The Thing in Bay 12" sounds like a great title for a cosmic horror story.
Yeah I had to write a title that doesn't spoil anything but also makes clear what the topic is :D

The Odyssey remaster used for Picard has seen the vessel decreased in size, the newest one was posted by Thomas Marrone on his twitter.

Old (2012):

New (2022-3):

So glad they left the C out :D
This one has one UFP symbol in the center, the STO one has 2 on the 'bridges'.

I still so want to see the D'deridex-class alongside either a Galaxy or Odyssey-class on screen. The size of those warbirds is so funny compared to Starfleet's little ships:

The D can apparently fly through the empty part of the warbird! The warbird can encompass the whole ship!

Just as an aside I keep watching the whole sequence over and over. It’s so well presented and well done. The details are all there. Man. I ugly cried when I first saw it and I still tear up even thought I’ve probably watched it 25 times.
My cup runneth over with love... I even get wobbly talking to people about it

After the fanwank explosion over the resurrected Enterprise-D, I am now certain Strange New Worlds will end with the exact TOS Enterprise bridge and classic Enterprise look (despite one having to ignore "The Cage" and "Ephraim and Dot" for it to make ANY sense in-universe. Picard has also changed "refit" to mean "entirely different ship" so whatever)
Ignoring 1 unaired and 1 animated episode is better than ignoring 79 live ones :D

Now imagine the reaction if they had Discovery-ized the Enterprise-D because they felt the need to re-conceptualize her for modern audiences.
Nice how 'outdated' designs that 'modern audiences' would reject actually do work pretty well, right? ;)

Looks like it, Dave Blass posted this and has the original length of the ship:

Oh my... I want a big plush model of it to hug and squeeze and cuddle with, she's so beautiful :luvlove:

Well, now that it has been officially revealed, LeVar tweeted this image the day the season started, then quickly deleted.

Pretty sure that is part of the finale poster they're gonna release

It also only looks good from higher angles. From head on and below is kind of squat and ugly (I don't like the neckless look) and from the side it looks like the SeaQuest with nacelles.
How can 2 necks be neckless ;) :D

The F has this weird thing that a lot of modern SF ships seem to (including the Cerritos)...it's the hole in the middle between the saucer and the drive section. I don't get why it's there and it makes the ship look weird. Plus, imagine in an emergency and you need to get from the bridge to engineering (or vice versa) and the damn turbo lift has to go down, then allllllllll the way to the port or starboard, and then down, and then back to the middle again. It just seems like the hole is there because people were like "hmmm how can I make this one look different and kewl I know what if there's a hole in the middle!"
Just like the Oberth and Springfield :D

Ticonderoga is not exactly in the middle of "nowhere".
The Adirondack Park system is all around there and there are many places to stay and visit.

Granted it's not that far from the Canadian border (about another hour and a half), but it's only about a 2 hour drive from Albany up the Northway.

Takes longer to get to NYC or Boston.

Look at those details!

I can almost see the early TNG model wall in the conference room :D
She's retracing her same steps from "Best of Both Worlds." I think she came out of warp near Jupiter when entering the solar system then too.
From the Variety article about the rebuild of the set, recreating the look of the carpet was a task, since the type of carpet they used for TNG was no longer available.
