I love Mike, Jay, and Rich. But they are hardly "tastemaker".Not exactly.

Again, they have a pretty wide reach. Their last review has over 750k views. If they really like the end of the season, and know about the petition, that could potentially move the needle on it in a quite favorable way.And they discussed the push for a Star Trek Legacy spinoff;

Why not?Would Kurtzman want to greenlight a Terry Matalas series that goes against the 'Kurtzman Trek' brand?
Member Berries: The Series.Social Media, and retweets for #StarTrekLegacy will probably go the furthest.
Ultimately, I'm skeptical this will happen now though, even if fan demand is strong.
Could Paramount even finally support a third live-action Trek show in it's current state?

Likely not. Kurtzman will probably keep pushing his Section 31 baby forward.
Terry said this about Star Trek Legacy:
Look, I love this time period in Star Trek, the 25th century. I always view it as the present day in Star Trek, for me. It’s where we all left off. And the way we leave this season is a passing of the torch from the last generation to the next… I would certainly love [the spin-off] to happen. We certainly leave it so that you can do that.
Boy, wouldn’t you want to check in with the Klingon Empire? Wouldn’t you want to check in with Deep Space Nine and The Doctor [from Voyager] and everything that went on with the Berman-verse? So that’s kind of where I see is to explore the galaxy and sort of get back to the Next Gen roots of storytelling is what I would see as a kind of version of Star Trek I’d like to see, with this group of characters that we’re seeing. I don’t want to talk too much about them although I think you could guess as to who I would like to see. And by the way, I think that includes a great deal of some of these legacy characters who I think have never been better, Jonathan Frakes being one of them… I mean come on, guys, he’s amazing!

The "Berman-verse" .... yeah I have my doubts Kurtzman will want that.

Not exactly. Braga has admitted to being burned out by the end of Voyager's sixth season, but he was initially inspired by the creative opportunities Enterprise's prequel setting provided. That is until UPN stepped in and told him and Berman their ideas "weren't Star Trek" and forced them to turn the show in the TNG-Voyager Lite show it ended up being.Braga definitely. He admits he was creatively bankrupt by Enterprise.

To me, Star Trek has always been about exploring strange new worlds. Boldly going..... and all that. This "Legacy" series just feels like boldly going where we've already gone. I think this all further highlights why I think Strange New Worlds is the superior show.
We've gotten new species, cultures, planets, etc. We've further expanded on cultures we knew very little about from previous series. We even had a little reflection on our own social issues, for old time sake. That, to me, is Star Trek.

After Starfleet Academy fails in 2 short seasons perhaps they will realize and fund more Star Trek like Picard season 3. The buzz around this season is incredible and s3 has done more for Star Trek than 4 seasons of Discovery, a show which heavily divides the fanbase.

Picard HAS explored new ground (thematically, emotionally, etc.).
Life is not always going to be "Happy Happy! Joy Joy! Let's pick lichen samples on Zeta Four!"
