It's nonsense statements like this that really makes me question whether I want to interact with other Trek fans or not. It's a tv show. My hope is that anyone whinging about canon is alive to see Trek enter the public domain, because that is going to be an absolute shit show for the canonista

If he gets a new Trek show I assume he'll get all the assets he need, just like the other shows. But he might have to rent a place in Toronto.

Still not 100% sold on Picard season 3 so I have not cast my vote yet. I had my own ideas for this season but it is just not panning out as I expected so far, leaving me a little bit underwhelmed yet at the same time comfortably satisfied with a warm fuzzy feeling inside, a bit like the feeling one gets after eating a McDonalds. I had something far more complex than a McDonald’s in mind for Picard season 3 but of course TPTB know best. I was thinking Burger King! But then I saw the liquidised meat slurry Changelings and it put me off burgers all together. I would rather that the gang which produce Prodigy team up with Terry tbh if anything, one person should never be given too much power over a franchise and Terry may need someone to rein him in when his inner fanboy takes over.

They showrun different shows. Goldsman isn't involved with Picard Season 3, he's busy with Strange New Worlds. It's like asking if the Chief of Staff of the Army is the boss of the Chief of Staff of the Navy.
I think that Akiva may need replacing with a group of representative people who act as a ‘think tank’ in regards to Star Trek’s future and best interests. When I say that Akiva should be ‘replaced’ I do not mean that he cannot be a part of that group or a part of Star Trek’s future, I just think that he may not be 100% qualified to run this sh*t as a sole show runner. I think that it will be called ‘Starfleet Academy’, like Enterprise was just called ‘Enterprise’ until ironically Kurtzman (I think?) chimed in and the show was rebranded as ‘Star Trek: Enterprise’.
Maybe if the Academy show goes downhill they will rebrand it with Star Trek again?
