Spoilers The Starfleet Museum

What ships will we see in the Starfleet Museum?

Ah, ok, that explains it. The registry is from TNG The Measure of a Man while the ship was only established as Nebula class a couple of years later in DS9. Bad call by MA to connect these facts as far as I'm concerned.

Well, MA is only going by Blass’s tweet. So it’s a bad call on Blass’s part.

Yep, the Nebula-class Lexington was merged with the NCC-30405 Lexington article in 2016. Since The Measure of a Man aired in 1989 and The Wounded (first appearance of a Nebula) in 1991 that connection was clearly not production intent. Curiously, IIRC none of the ships and registries of that chart made it into the Encyclopedia. Seems almost like they forgot about it altogether.

I'd love to see a California, but part of me thinks they'd save it for the Strange New Worlds crossover.

When the season started, a VFX artist mentioned trying to slip a California or Vancouver into the background of the Titan reveal and launch sequence, but it was vetoed by a higher-up for reasons unknown. I'm having trouble finding the original tweet, but they posted a screencap with it of them playing with the models.

Most of the ships mentioned in "Conspiracy" and "The Measure Of A Man" were forgotten by the authors of the Star Trek Encyclopedia. Considering that we have examples of ship names being seen in both episodes, with different registries, that the art department was not keeping a list of starships at that time. It would be become a thing later with the fourth season when they began developing a list and adding to it.

I really wish the Picard art department and the Strange New Worlds art department would actually communicate with eachother..... Maybe it's a L.A. vs Toronto "thing".

*plus, we have a whole new length for the Enterprise-A.

Yes, I see that Blass just extrapolated things from MA’s anal-retentiveness in giving a Nebula class starship a registry it was clearly not meant to have. Yay canon.

Of course a Nebula class would have been low on my list of ships in a museum, but the ship choices they made are a different topic entirely.

The Conspiracy and Measure of a Man ships probably weren’t in the Encyclopedia because you couldn’t make out the names and registries in the episodes. Only Okuda would have had the info because he made the Okudagrams, but apparently even he didn’t know the info.

At least its a difference of 5 meters and not..100+

I think those hangar bay doors were expanded. They seem larger than in the TOS movies... The Nebula-class saucer might narrowly clear these doors... Which means quite a bit for Hangar Bay 12.

What's going on with the Saber? Graphic says 364m, but the scale chart shows it at about 150m, which is closer to the previously established size.

To be fair, the last time we saw the Earth Spacedock canonically, the largest ship it had to worry about was the Excelsior class.

Bigger/more doors makes sense as ships grew in size.

In case anyone's curious, I added another set of ships scaled to the lengths given in that twitter thread:

That's a huge Saratoga!
