Also Picard Season 1 used the DSC redesign.
All season 1 shows is that the Discoprise design somehow exists in-universe. Even on the zoomed in shots used for the S1 Blu-ray menus, a registry number isn't visible. And yes, there are some Discovery shuttles. But, using "150 year old" designs as new supports the theory more than detracts from it...

Why is this the best?
It allows for TOS and DISCOVERY/SNW to have equal status without one overwriting the other. It seems like a fair compromise. Plus TOS is too integrated into Berman-era shows, so destabilizing it destabilizes them as well.

I know you don't care about canon/continuity, but a significant segment of the fanbase does. In trying to sell NuTrek skeptics on giving season 3 a fresh shot, Robert Meyer Burnett heavily implied we'd see a TOS Connie design as a selling point.

PIC Season 3 in this episode uses the Romulan Bird of Prey redesign from PIC Season 1 and SNW

He does, just not at the level you do.

They have equal status even when in the same universe.

Prodigy used the TOS Connie, but also used the Crossfield Class.

What’s the planet the Museum is orbiting?

Also this cannot be the only fleet museum one would have thought, esp for an organisation the size and age of Starfleet.

Why should I care? Why do you care? This to me indicates extreme short sightedness on the part of that fandom that puts so much stock in to these little details.
I know you don't care about canon/continuity,
Yes, I do. I care enough to find ways for them to exist side by side, rather than reboot/alternate timeline/etc.

What I don't care about is using the continuity test to say "not Trek!"
They have equal status even when in the same universe.
Indeed.

I loved how Discovery season 2 had the "previously on Star Trek" which used footage from 1964's The Cage. I think that's the best way to do it: it all counts, and when the story calls for an updated set, use it. When the story calls for the old design, use it. It's all good.

For the purposes of Picard, it makes sense to use the old design in the fleet museum as it contrasts nicely with the current day ships. For the purposes of SNW, it makes sense to show the Enterprise as state of the art while acknowledging the design origins of the original.

But the BoP redesign (in PICARD anyway) doesn't supplant the original, much in the way the D7 to K't'inga-class change leaves the original intact.

Prodigy used the TOS Connie, but also used the Crossfield Class.
The Crossfield is based on the 1970's Planet of the Titan Enterprise design. It's also seen in the Battle of Wolf 359 and I believe the Qualor depot from "Unification", so it predates 2017.

But the picture we see in Prodigy is the same Crossfield design as it appears in Discovery. Not the original Planet of the Titans concept.

Lower Decks is also crossing over with SNW in SNW Season 2, and I bet my ass they're not going to treat it as an alternate universe.

It does in the Season 1 dialogue.

I'm very surprised with the NX refit, but I'm also really glad.

Although considering that the NX-01 retired at the end of the mission seen in These Are The Voyagers, is this another hint that they're going to make the holodeck scenes "inaccurate" (similar to the book The Good that Men Do")? Lower Decks also borrowed an important element from that book: Section 31 faking deaths to recruit officers.

Nor did we see the Enterprise-D saucer that was heavily speculated about based on the starship plaque info at Starfleet Academy in season 2.

With this TOS Connie presented in today's episode of Picard Terry Matalas trows the ball in the pitch of producers of other ST shows today.

I bet bcs od this that in last season of SNW when it's filmed we are going to see that Discoprise was heavily damaged in some battle and after that they are going go refit it to look as much as possible as that TOS Connie from the museum today.

We already had one big redisgn from DIS season 2 Enterprise to SNW season 1 Enterprise. Look at all those windows that are there now, look conference room, look coridors. It is already refited from DIS Enterprise to SNW Enterprise.

If the saucer section was there, then Seven's line about Voyager having gone further than any of the other relics wouldn't have worked since the Ent-D traveled over a billion light years compared to Voyager's 70,000.

Nah

I'm sorry. I was wrong now I see. It really is TOS Connie. But how it is possbile??? How will they explain it now? Bcs we had tad visual change. It doesn't fit with SNW anymore.
As a non-fan of the show, I don't care about how SNW fits in and neither do you. The only difference is, I'm honest about it.

Your opinion as my opinion up. I think that they are going to please some fans with that.

I know that lot of ST fans are not worried about visual difference between SNW season 1 Enterprise and TOS Enterprise.

But believe me there are some fans that are worried about thoose things like myself. I'm thinking all day about that how it's possible and I ask God if he exist to make design inline of all these at the end of SNW.

Bcs this is not normal, it can cause psychological depression in long term and maybe some suicides. A lot of fans can't take this diffences. All this causes anxiety to be honest and I don't feel well after this.
