Spoiler:

I'm sorry. I was wrong now I see. It really is TOS Connie. But how it is possbile??? How will they explain it now? Bcs we had tad visual change. It doesn't fit with SNW anymore.

That’s easy. We’re supposed to ignore the visual discontinuity between DSC/SNW and TOS. Now we’re just doing the reverse. It’s not like Worf looks like a DSC Klingon either.

Or, you can just do what I do, and consider DSC/SNW a reboot.

It's meant to be seen as a visual treat - the easiest way to make sure the eye sees it is to make the most iconic version of it. It is in essence a plot beat/heartstring tug. Not rule of cool but....same emotional idea.

As fireproof78 said - It's not literal history.
Like Paul755 said - it bothers some, doesn't bother others.

This explanation is what I'm going with.

Indeed. But, for my money I'd rather be creative and find ways to have it all fit together, rather than just give up, curse the writers, and declare it a reboot. For me, it's way more fun to find a way to have it work together as a larger whole rather than be annoyed by their creative choices.

But, I trust that SNW will be boycotted now for it's discontinuity.

I wonder why Shaw considers Nebula, Akira and Saber class starships to be 'relics.' They aren't that old. And the Akira class is still in service in 2401. Those three ships were kind of odd choices for museum ships.

Presumably they aren't just random ships, but noteworthy ones. "Relic" means "revered" as well as "old".

Museums don't just have things that are obsolete. The National Rail Museum in York contains Class 43 HSTs that are still in service, but displayed in their original configuration.

Possibly these are famous ships from the Dominion War? I quite like that these aren't just ships that fans recognise, as otherwise it would be a very small world.

Well, cant just have ships that we've seen, its a big galaxy and other crews have been doing things as well, they might be ships that have distingushed themselves or, as with the connie, entire ship classes that have proved to merit preservation.
Or they have holes, and there just filling them.
Rather them fill them with like a Daedalus, Miranda, Ambassador, throw in some fan made designs from lost eras than stuff from recent past.

It was just the Connie though, they used the PIC Season 1/SNW BoP redesign at the museum, not the original TOS design.

And even then it wasn't an exact copy of the TOS Connie design, there was added detail and

The best fan theory I've come across (which is used by TrekYards and Ex Astris Scientia) is to treat DISCOVERY/SNW as their own parallel universe a la the Abramsverse.

Except that contradicts Paramount's official stance, and evidence to the contrary in those shows. So no thank you.

People are free to believe whatever they want, official stance notwithstanding. It’s a damn fictional tv show, for Christ’s sake.
