Looking for data confirmation. PIcard S3 only ranks 46th on P+?

Paramount+ doesn't release its numbers and rankings. So no one can confirm or deny this at all.
Hold on, hold on...

There you go.

Picard season 3 has been the number one trending show on Amazon Prime in the UK this week. If Americans do not appreciate Star Trek anymore then perhaps they can make it a UK based production instead.
Painting with an awful broad brush there...

According to flixpatrol, which gets its information from the Paramount + "popular titles" tab, it was not in the top 10 today in the USA this morning although it now appears as #7 on my "popular" tab. Flixpatrol has it at #6 yesterday and #6 for the week. It was not in the top 10 as of Thursday morning when they took their snapshot, it was #1 Friday, #3 Saturday, and #4 Sunday. The latest season of Discovery was consistently higher in these rankings, even months after new episodes. From what I recall, season 2 of Picard was also higher in the rankings. It was also not in the top 10 last Tuesday or Wednesday Personally, I don't feel like the chances are good for a Titan show based on these numbers (IF the rankings are even accurate).

Of course it's hard to compare if Flixpatrol takes their snapshot at a point in the morning when Picard isn't on the list and it moves higher throughout the day. That's even assuming the list is sorted by popularity on P+, and that doesn't give viewer numbers.

It seems to do pretty well on Amazon Prime. Better than I had anticipated. Fifth best performance among all TV shows worldwide in March.

Season 2 did well on Prime also from what I recall. You can go back and look at historical day specific information if you are so inclined

Honestly, at this point, Picard has no pressure. It is not going to continue on, for obvious reasons, streaming business is contracting for obvious reasons, and Strange New Worlds is the current ongoing series for Paramount+. Season 3 has a free pass, and it's getting it with the nostialia and use of legacy characters.

I think the pressure it has is for it to lead to a spinoff.

I don't see that happen any time soon.
What I see happening is that they'll let the other shows run their course. Probably 5 seasons for SNW, if we're lucky. Maybe a few more for Lower Decks and Prodigy, because they're cheap.

Then, once everything is done, they'll maybe do another live action. Will that be "Star Trek: Titan" or whatever they want to call a 25th century show? Who knows?

They can't afford to just throw a ton of Trek at us and see what sticks, not anymore. But I also doubt they'll want to abandon the brand.

They'll ween us off this overabundance of Trek until we're left with one show, just to keep the lights on.

I wonder how devastating the numbers were for Discovery that made them cancel it. I am sure Picard is doing better numbers this season over Discovery as they reverted to authentic classic feeling Trek.

After.... five seasons? Can't have been that devastating. The Disco cancellation likely comes down to two factors: It's an expensive show to produce and P+ is belt-tightening, and I BELIEVE their contracts are coming up, so the cast would be expecting a raise, making the expensive show more expensive.

More or less this, yeah. Basically a perfect storm of factors all piling up resulting in this being the most logical time to end the series.

On its show ranking list, according to flixpatrol, it did better than any other Star Trek show. P+ themselves said it was the most watched original show in 2021. So if that wasn't enough to keep it going then not sure how much hope there is for other Trek shows.

As has been noted elsewhere, streaming shows rarely last beyond 5 seasons. Even Netflix has only had a handful of shows go longer than 5 seasons and those were years ago.The immensely popular Stranger Things is only lasting 5 seasons (and less episodes per season), the popular show Ozark only lasted 4 seasons and so on.

I thought the "five Star Trek shows so we have Star Trek all-year round!" thing was a bit much, but I wasn't going to complain as long as I still got what I wanted. I was only really around for DSC and PIC.

But the five-show model really isn't sustainable. I don't think it's the end of the Kurtzman Era, but 2021-2022 was the peak, as far as output.

2021-2022 for Kurtzman Trek was like 1994-1995 for Berman Trek.

Regardless if this claim is a hoax, the truth is that streaming numbers are down across all the main streaming providers. Rumors are even Mandalorian viewership is going down, and Willow was just canceled at Disney Plus despite being supported by Ron Howard himself. The next season of Loki has been delayed. Picard is ending and there seems to be no new live action Trek in the near future actively being produced other than Strange New Worlds. Witcher at Netflix probably won't last much longer with the backlash over the Cavill drama. I would not be surprised if Apple TV canceled Foundation considering it's probably an expensive show and I would not be surprised if viewership was even lower than Willow's, as the Asimov fanbase is probably even more niche than Willow's.

There was supposed to be a Starfleet Academy show presumably in the 32nd century, but Jonathan Frakes recently said "Don't hold your breath" on new 32nd century content so that may be dead in the water. As for Section 31, nothing has been announced and Michelle Yeoh may want to do other things after winning an Oscar. Even if both of these shows magically get traction, we're still years off from seeing them at best (keep in mind that Acolyte, Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka all already have casts announced and started filming over at that other Star franchise, and it will probably be a while until we see THOSE shows).

There is just too much content being produced now and too many platforms. It was bound to hit a saturation point eventually. People can't watch it all or subscribe to it all.....
