There's some oddball versions of TMP out there. As I posted last fall, there's a version that's got bits of what we know from the SLV but with the theaterical spacewalk (no Kirk), etc. I sometimes wonder if this was the infamous "airline" print of the film.

There's some oddball versions of TMP out there. As I posted last fall, there's a version that's got bits of what we know from the SLV but with the theaterical spacewalk (no Kirk), etc. I sometimes wonder if this was the infamous "airline" print of the film.

My memory of reports about the (c. 1980) "airline" version is that it was simply the regular theatrical version with some of the Vejur flyover scenes and crew reaction shots clipped out to shorten the film.

The "Special Longer Version" bonus scenes made their public debut in ABC TV's television premiere of TMP.
