Vadic’s ship and crew

I’m more surprised at who it isn’t, considering it’s a rogue group of Founders.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that Vadic was supposed to have some personal link to Picard. What would a rogue Changeling have to do with him personally?

Maybe there's a Dominion War link in there somewhere, since we don't really know what the Enterprise was doing during the war. It just looked to me that the effect of her hand 'regenerating' looks a lot like the effect they used for the changeling on the Titan flowing through the wall after being discovered by Seven.

we'll need 10 episodes to discover that it Vadic was actually Picards mother in that gigantic underground labyrinth under his house and that he repressed memories of seeing her in her bucket.

I think that was people assuming "Khan like villain" means personal connection.

I have a feeling that the Changeling head thing might not have been a Changeling, but merely communicating through Vadic's separated hand goo. Maybe the rebel Changelings made a deal with a far worse enemy in exchange for furthering their cause. Armus maybe?
