Didn’t see this posted but if it has, mods please merge. According to the digital bits it looks like we will be getting Generations thru Nemesis in time for First Contact Day.

Also, retail sources have just informed us that Paramount is now tentatively planning to release the Star Trek: The Next Generation feature films—Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis—on 4K Ultra HD a little sooner than we were expecting. Look for them to arrive just in time for “First Contact Day” 2023, better known as April 5th. This would be in lieu of the traditional “Star Trek Day” (aka September 8), which is when the Original Series films debuted in 4K. And obviously, as First Contact Day happens on a Wednesday next year, I would look for the specific street date to be 4/4.

FC looked fantastic when they put it on P+ in 4K earlier this year. Can’t wait to see the others, Generations especially.

I'm looking forward to Generations with correct color grading. The first half of this movie is the best of the TNG movies IMHO. It all falls apart in the second half and of course it lacks the consistent tone of First Contact. But that first half is the last time that I recognised the TNG characters from the TV series - and for that alone, I love it.

I'm looking forward to GEN and NEM the most, will obviously give FC and INS a fresh viewing proper, but it's great that the TNG movies are getting the same good releases!

Wow. The Nexus ribbon (DVD) looks like the correct color and brightness. The 2009 blu looks like dog-wee yellow and whose brighter hues are blooming to all-white.

The GEN pic of Kirk with the grass is oversaturated on the 2009 blu (looks realistic in the old DVD.)

STFC of Picard growling looks better in the blu, oddly. More accurate skintone, unless he's supposed to look that salmony-pink.

Too much smoothing is bad. Not enough edge sharpening won't be much better for some, noting the furore over TUC's 4K release looking "softer" to them, even despite the 09's excessive processing led to far, far worse issues.

The new 4K transfers are available now on HBO Max. I was very impressed right off the bat with Generations’ new transfer that removed that awful yellow tint to it.

Couldn't be more happier to read this. Am working my way through the first six movies on 4k, buying one a month and have only two more to pick up so this is perfect.

Interesting... I should check that out. But I guess I never really minded the yellow.

Sigh why is Crusher in the wrong uniform. I mean I know it’s technically the Dress uniform but everyone else in their duty uniform. Would it kill for a bit of a consistency ?

I'm not a big fan of that cover art. I wish they had done some kind of photo collage instead, or just a plain black cover. But I am looking forward to getting these at some point.

Pre-ordered my copy of the box set. Can’t wait to see the films again without the awful DNR on the current Blu-rays.

Hi everyone I’m pretty sure that Paramount+ in the U.K. has new transfers of Nemesis and First Contact both look noticeably different. Generations looks better as well the sky is definitely blue instead of a green colour when they are on the boat but this matches the version on ITunes.

I might be wrong, but at least on my TV here in the UK, Paramount Plus is only 1080p and more significantly, it's not HDR. It's interesting because when I watch ST:TUC in Dolby Vision, the red uniforms are noticeably different to when I just watch in HDR10. They look like they are supposed to. But when I play ST:TVH for example, there's no discernable difference between HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

It’s definitely only in 1080p but I know what you mean the colours pop more.
