What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

They are Art Asylum toys from the mid 00's. I want a TMP ship but I don't believe they ever made one. The made the A and they made a battle damaged TWOK ship. And those are all bloody expensive anyway.
There was a non-battle damaged TWOK one, too.

The plastic it's molded from is probably closer to the pearlescent TMP look than the flatter finish ILM used for the newer shots in the latter half of TWOK, but it has the TWOK blue paint, so it's almost more of a TMP/TWOK hybrid.

As many times as they went back to the well with that mold, I'm a little surprised they didn't make a TMP version.

"Arena(TOS)" was a pretty action-oriented episode even if it had an underlying message of compassion for one's vanquished opponent and humanity's evolution as an ethical species. You can't tell me that episode wasn't designed around Kirk punching and throwing boulders at a bipedal lizard who gave even better than he got.

Captain Harriman was right!

"You left Spacedock without a tractor beam?"
"Yeah, Mr. Living Legend. When I said 'We're in no condition to mount a rescue' that was part of it. Should I have been more specific?"

The part where Harriman is a bad captain is when he lets Kirk shame him into a rescue he knows his ship isn't capable of.

The ill prepared rescue also leads to Kirk's death... TWICE. If he doesn't mess with the Nexus then not only is Kirk not lost on the Enterprise-B but there is no Soran in Picard's time to mess with whatever stars he can get his hands on, the Enterprise-D is not lost, and Kirk doesn't die fighting Soran then either.

Guinan sounded like she was perfectly OK in the Nexus.

OTOH this means Worf probably does not leave the Enterprise and is never posted to Deep Space 9 and all of the ramifications that that entails.

I'm reversing one of my opinions. I think they should make a fourth Kelvin movie.

"But SNW makes the movies redundant!" It actually doesn't. PIC, DSC, and SNW are the new DS9, VOY, and ENT respectively. (I can go into why, but that's a whole other post.) A new movie would get a much larger audience even if it underperforms. From there, you might get some new fans who'll want to check out all the shows, including the new ones. And they'll be less jaded, no offense.

So even though I'm not really into them, the movies still serve a purpose.

Gracias. I'll check ebay.

I was with you until the end - how do you get that Worf wouldn't go to DS9?

If you ever get the chance to see Robin Curtis at a convention, do it.

She’s hilarious. And completely unfiltered.

When we met her she talked about getting stoned with Rene Auberjonois (“Who on Star Trek didn’t get high with Rene?”), and about a brief sexual affair she had with the last actor to play Spock in his progression on the Genesis planet.

It's conceivable that he would still come over. Sisko badly needed a Klingon's perspective, and Worf was the only one in Starfleet.

Worf may have been there for the events of "THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR", but he likely wouldn't have stayed on DS9 because he would have gone back to his home on the Enterprise. He was ready to leave Starfleet for the Nyberrite Alliance at the end of the episode because he delt he had no home to go to. Remember, Worf was on extended leave when Sisko called him in, and Worf said he was considering resigning.

Spoilers for PIC season 3

I find it very refreshing how Vadic is obviously evil and doesn't mind showing it. I like knowing exactly who is good and who is bad. I realize how old fashioned this is, and what's more, I.DON'T.FUCKING.CARE.

I hope they don't give Vadic some tragic backstory that tries to justify what she does (explanation is justification, after all) - some people are just :censored:ing NUTS, for no particular reason.

Oh, and I repeat what I earlier said about Shaw. He's the greatest. I hope he makes it through to the end of the season. And I'd totally watch Star Trek: Shaw. :techman:
