DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

There's more Batman than Flash in the Flash poster.

Strange how much they want to push the Keaton Batman angle yet did everything they could to erase him from every other appearance.

Maybe they're just trying to distract us from Ezra Miller...

This is DEFINITELY trying to downplay Miller.

And while I think Gunn has been sincere in a lot ofnwhat he says, I think his hype for Flash might be The Company Line, because as much as they want to re do things, Zaslav wants this movie to make a profit to counteract all the money that was spent (too much to do a tax write off)

Batman ‘89 I loved from ‘90 (had to wait a while to see it in the UK) to ‘99 or so. I didn’t watch it for years and then did around the mid-late 00s and thought it had aged badly. Then watched it again about four years ago and loved it again. And still do.

Batman Returns is also very good.

:guffaw:

I meant, we may see the actor, but not yet have an official casting announcement until after The Flash has been out for a week or so.

At this point, I doubt we're going to get any returning or crossover Batmans besides the one's we already know about.
Although I would love to see David Mazouz, Ian Glen, or Warren Christine show it. They all got very little or no screen time in the suit, so it might be fun to see the finally get to spend really play Batman.

Are you implying he'd be the DC universe Batman with Damian AND Matt Reeves elseworlds Batman? The universe would implode.

There is nothing in The Batman that would make it incompatible with a wider DC universe. Just because Gunn (or others) have said The Batman will not be part of The New DCU (TM), doesn't mean that that has to be the case.

Do you want him to be? He wasn’t a particularly interesting Batman. Only thing I liked was his Bruce Wayne portrayal

I like The Batman, but I don't think it is a matter of want--we're just speculating on who the new (or old) Batman is going to be.

I think we all want Clooney back. :)

I always felt he was a much more plausible casting choice in the role than his predecessors or indeed his successors. He had the square-jawed look, he could do Billionaire Bruce Wayne's debonair swagger as well as anyone, and he's shown in other roles that he's capable of the necessary intensity and gravitas. So I would've loved to see him get another chance at the role with a better script.

(Full disclosure, though, I'm a bit biased because my father knew his father, Nick Clooney, who was my favorite local TV news anchor when I was growing up.)

Again, Clooney is 61. He's older than Batman was in The Dark Knight Returns. He's over ten years older than Affleck, who was deemed old to start a Batman franchise when he was announced for the role about nine years ago. Not to mention that Clooney probably does not want to commit to a whole shared universe franchise of possible appearances in both live-action and animation.

If they go the aged-up route with Damian, David Mazouz might actually work. He's 21 now, turning 22 this year, he'll be in his mid-twenties when the movie's released, so a young Bruce during his travels training with Ra's and having an affair with Talia, that timeline could work. They couldn't do the whole established Bat-family with Nightwing & Co. around, though, unless he played older.

But while I wouldn't rule it out, I do still think it's a long shot. James Gunn's comment about not casting anyone until their movie's script is finished, that alone makes it highly unlikely we'll really see the new DCU's Batman in The Flash.
