So the tabloids were right, for once, when they said Miriam Margolyes was voicing Beep the Meep. (That's some Disney money CGI right there.) And am I incredibly stupid for not knowing who this is, as she gets a close-up all to herself so would seem to be important?
Took Facebook to remind me but that's Ruth Madeley (who was magnificent in Years and Years) as Shirley Anne Bingham, a new character.
So people were right when they said Madeley was going to be in it but unsurprisingly wrong when they said as her Big Finish character. More info here. Still not until next November: https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2022/doctor-who-sneak-peek-60th-anniversary-year
I'm soooo far behind on my Big Finish listening but I did hear that she was going to be in some stories. Definitely something to look forward to. Of note, the article reiterates this point: Doctor Who will return to screens for three specials in November 2023 to coincide with the 60th anniversary with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor.
I do hope the specials involve post-10th Doctor companions, since 14 knows them. Could make for an interesting dynamic.
I love that they kept the look from the Chibnall era, but the writing and poise still feels like RTD Who. Can't explain it, just a feeling.
I'm guessing, since he's in that place between regenerations, that he knows he's supposed to have been next, but 10/14 squeezed in before him.
In DWM Russell confirmed that they added that background in the trailer to replace the real one as showing it would be a spoiler.
Maybe 11 will squeeze in too. I hear that there are going to be a few specials before we see the (n)cutie.
That’s because it’s Colin Baker’s console room and RTD is retconning out EVERYTHING preTrial of a Time Lord
