DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

The proverbial “source” claims that Gunn and Safran are considering how to incorporate Matt Reeves’ The Batman into a wider DC universe. (Though there’s not a lot to corroborate this, other than the basic fact that I’m sure everything’s under consideration and on the table; doesn’t mean that it’s a priority or the like).

Gunn's debunked this on twitter already, now.

The Hollywood trades have no tradition of "integrity" to uphold or impugn. The best of them are two steps up from the press releases with which they fill so many pages.

On other matters,

Weren't they walking into WB just as she was walking out anyway? Probably got told by the execs "Trust us, you don't want to be anywhere near this situation. Just play nice and be diplomatic if she calls you out."

Henry will not be back as Superman.

Sounds like Cavil will be in something. Just not this.

Considering Superman is a near immortal being, young Superman could mean anything. He could be 500 years old and still be considered young. :)

It's a multiverse, any kind of Batman can fit.

Technically, sure, but I actually see the point that Patt-man doesn't mesh with the current iteration of the DCU.

Looks like they're rebuilding from the ground up.

I actually expected this. It's all been more or less a disjointed mess. It's like having tainted lettuce in your salad. You can try to pick out the tainted parts, but it's not really going to work. Throw it out and start over, particularly if you're trying to unify the DCU.

Oof... That's gotta be hard on Henry. After keeping quiet on things for years and then finally breaking silence on it by announcing his return and then a month or so later he is ditched.
I'd say that's it for the current DC Universe then. I guess Flash, Shazam and Aquaman will be the last of the run. Maybe they'll retool the Flash in some manner to create this reboot. They might even have it switch places with Aquaman. Gonna be weird if it's a massive hit and there won't be any sequels...
