Spoilers Andor season one

That guy has stolen Iron Man’s laser tech. :)

Looked like an application of the seismic charge tech that Slave One carried which Jango Fett tried to toast Kenobi with over Geonosis.

I finished it.

We know there's going to be a riot due to the trailer. We saw the arrestor, ah neat.

Damnit, he still has the manifesto, pfft. Ah well. But yea, now the wonder is, everyone knows about the funeral, and Andor will probably arrive soon after it. Maybe enough that the ISB calls it a dud and is more focused on Kreegyr?

That scene with Saw was great. That, that was Saw. So quick to be paranoid. But Luthen snapped him back to grounded reality. Though it seems Saw still demanded a high price for compliance...for the gun to his head, the paranoia, and giving up 30+Kreegyr.

I can't imagine we'll even see Ezra's message. The beauty of this show is that, by design, it's accessible to casual fans and has avoided pointless references to other parts of the lore. Start dropping in cameos and whatnot (even in the form of a message) and you ruin that.

In other news, it was revealed recently that Yavin will indeed appear in Season 2, but I hope it's at the near end of the run.

Tony Gilroy has already said they are going to hit some canon beats in Season 2 that happen over the 4 years that Season 2 covers.

Mon Mothma's resignation from the senate and the Declaration of the Rebel Alliance because of the Ghorman Massacre in 2BBY is one of these things he's pointed out. Now I doubt we'll see the actual declaration on the bridge of the Ghost. Maybe a recording of it only showing her, because it's very important to her character. Plus the Ghormans have already been name dropped this season.

Imagine if Ghormans are these kawaii little elfin things at this rate. Though having them just be normal humans being starved to death is also as likely, just to hammer it in that even humans don't get spared under the Empire even more.

The aliens this episode were great, a bit ST for sure but I liked their sort of talkin' style.

In Legends it was a Human planet, but the species makeup hasn't been defined in canon yet. I doubt it will be important (unless they show the actual massacre on screen)

Also in Legends the massacre happened in 18 BBY not 2 BBY. But hey.

In Legends Tarkin just lands his ship on them. That's....mrm.

None of this will be referenced in "Andor" and I'd be shocked if the Rebels crew ever appears (and I truly, deeply hope they do not.)
I think their colourful look would be kinda jarring with Andor's sensibilities, unless that radically changes in s2. Which I doubt.
Plus how do you do them? Kanan was around 30 in Rebels, Freddy Prinze Jnr is now 46. So pay for the de-aging there. Sabine I guess you could just keep her helmet on, and Zeb wouldn't matter really. But Ezra is meant to be a teenager, and the guy who'll be playing him in Ahsoka wouldn't really work would it, can you deage an adult into a teen, wouldn't the body be off etc? So recast? That'd just end up confusing.

I just don't see it working at all. I'd definitely like to see a little something though, but just saying anyone expecting Cassian or Mon Mothma to be walking around the Ghost and hanging with the guys in season 2 I think will be disappointed.

(Hello to my future self when I come quoting this out of embarrassment in two years time  ;) )

I doubt this is the last we'll see of Melshi before the series ends next year. He'll probably be reunited with Cassian when both become members of the Rebel Alliance if not sooner than that. But it was heartwarming to see the two hug and wish each other well. They definitely formed a bond in prison.

Fair, but I think the odds are about 1 in a 100 that we see Mothma strolling around the Ghost with live-action versions of the Rebels crew.

Of the Ghost crew, I would expect to only see Hera and Chopper, and maybe hear Ezra's speech. Possibly Zeb, since he'll probably be CGI or partly CG character.

There is a period later on while the Ghost is on Yavin that Hera and Zeb are doing missions while Ezra, Chopper, Kanan, and Sabine are helping on Mandalore. But even earlier than that, Hera is the main contact person and the main Rebel with a rank in what will be the Alliance military. Hera would be the one talking to Mon Mothma when things happen.

As noted that this is a Rogue One lead in. The Ghost and Chopper are in that film, and General Syndula is mentioned over the intercom at Yavin Base.

One of the things I've appreciated about the animated shows vs. a lot of the Legends material that seemed to treat the cantina's diversity as the exception rather than the rule is how most settled worlds aren't all just populated by one sapient species. More often than not demonyms are more about the planet as a nationality, so "Ghormans" could easily include humans, twi'leks, gotals, ithorians . . . etc. etc.

Random thought: I can't help but wonder if this is also why they've not used the Bothan species in canon this far. If nothing else the "Bothan spynet" makes WAY more sense if Bothawui is a very ethnically diverse culture and Bothans could be any one of dozens of species. Giant horse-lion people on the other hand would be a bit conspicuous trying to infiltrate mostly human Imperial military, especially when the one thing they're known for is spying.
