What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Admiral Morrow's... line in TSFS about the Enterprise being too old then gets ignored. I'd have it so Starfleet didn't want to repair the Enterprise because the damage it took in TWOK made it more trouble than it was worth. Really drive home that Khan did a number on them. To quote Spock, "They knew exactly where to hit us." That's how I would've handled it.

Yeah, really. Geordi's line about the Jenolen in "Relics" made more sense, when he said the ship could have easily still been in service after 75 years.

There's no reason why both couldn't be true, if the Constitution class had been in production for say 30 years with production stopped shortly before the Excelsior class started. That could explain why, until later series brought us more ship classes, that the Constitution was the only class seen. The class may have been the best the technology at the time could make so a lot were made making it Starfleet's backbone. If Enterprise was one of the first off the line, then it could have been too old and too damaged to be worth repairing and refitting in such a short time. It had gone through a complete refit just a few years earlier as shown in TMP.

As a transport, the Jenolen could have a longer life as it would see little battle, and it wouldn't need the major refits the larger classes that were made for battle and exploration outside of Federation space would need. Also it seemed to have been made much later than Enterprise or Excelsior. It was built with, or was upgraded to, an LCARS interface.

I'm excited to see what happens next in Prodigy. As in genuinely excited and I want to see what happens next. So, Controversial Opinion: I like Prodigy better than Strange New Worlds. (Since this is TrekBBS and I know how this place works, I have to be crystal clear: emphasis on "like better", I like SNW but prefer PRO.)

I don't know where things will land with PRO. Whereas with SNW, we more-or-less know how it'll turn out: It has to lead into TOS. Prequels take out a lot of the anticipation, that's why they're so hard to pull off.

EDITED TO ADD: Before someone says, "But you loved Discovery even during the first two seasons!" Yes, but it's the exception that proves the rule. One of the reasons I loved it is one of the same reasons other people hated it: It didn't act like a prequel. It carried itself like anything could happen.

I preferred TNG seasons 1-2 over seasons 3-7.

The scripts were clunky yes, but the stories, cinematography, music, etc I found to be much more enjoyable.

I like the early TNG uniforms. Had to be removed though simply for the sake of actors' health (which is also one reason why Seven's catsuit had to be binned, but somehow it wasn't...).

TOS still had the best uniforms though, the boots alone just reign supreme.

I would disagree with three color Monsters, because so much maroon looks nice to me, and big Monster Golds and Monster Blues would’ve looked like Crazy Quilt on the big screen imho.

Just noticed something with all the Doctor Who talk online recently.

It's not 1-to-1, but:

'60s and '70s Who is like '60s Trek --> The version(s) people most associate with The Old Days.
The 8th Doctor is like Phase II (or TMP) --> What could've been but was cut off.
Davies/Moffat Who is like Berman Trek --> The modernized version.
Who since 2018 is like Trek since 2017 --> People complaining about "wokeness". Bringing back David Tennant is even like bringing back Patrick Stewart.

It's very loose, but I can see some parallels.

There's parallels a bit with Star Wars too. Rey/Michael Burnham/Thirteenth Doctor all cop a lot of shit just for being girls and what.
