Halloween Style Episodes

With Halloween just a few days away, What Star Trek episodes would fit under the Horror/Spooky genre? Go nuts.

Brannon Braga wrote lots of those.

Here's a list of a few of my favourites from his ouvre which i believe may fit your categorization:

Identity Crisis (TNG)
Schisms (TNG)
Genesis (TNG)
Phage (VOY)
Cold Fire (VOY)
Threshold (VOY)

Years ago, the Space channel in Canada (what is now known as CTV Sci-Fi) chose on Halloween to show "spooky themed" episodes of the shows they air in daily syndication instead of the episode that was due in the syndication rotation. This was before Enterprise was syndicated, so there was only TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY. The episodes were:
TOS Catspaw
TNG Sub Rosa
DS9 The Muse
VOY Barge of the Dead
I guess if you wanted to include an Enterprise episode, hmm, Impulse?

A lot of good ones already listed... Phantasms, Sub Rosa, Catspaw, Haunting, and especially Schisms.

Where Silence Has Lease. That one freaked me out.
Dark Page has some freaky bits.
Distant Voices has some scary moments, too.

 "Justice" is suitably horrifying with grown people dressed in paper outfits and waste so much body lotion and spreading who knows what to one another without so much a care, or would if this were not in Startrekland but then again season 1 episodes from a few weeks ago about drugs and how parents value their children and so on sorta answers that sad question about this being a PSA-fest for the teenieboppers too... Not to mention the potential for death penalty based one tripping into a posy patch should be deemed scary as well. Freddy Kruger should be prouder than Wesley's boasting of how they're in Starfleet and don't lie. I'd say few get more horrific than this one... just not for the same set of reasons as "Justice" should have been able to ratched up the atmospheric tension to 1000000 with most of its ideas, but kept it at -8675309 instead. How nuts is that?

Spectre of the Gun is fitting for the holiday, especially since the O.K. Corral gunfight occurred around the same time. I’ve always admired how the Earps and Holiday were framed and acted like old time western photographs. Much more effective and eerie than Catspaw.

Any of TOS' "Monster of the Week" episodes qualify.

Like "Devil in the Dark". The episode's biggest treat is that the mobile lava lump is actually friendly, though how to pet it without roasting yourself in the process is a tad more difficult as far as tricks go. Unless you're Dr McCoy, of course. :D

Operation -- Annihilate! would be my pick. I remember renting it for the first time and my mom warning me about the hokey “flying pancakes.” However, the performances from the actress playing Kirk’s sister-in-law and Leonard Nimoy really helped to sell the severity of the situation these parasites were causing.

That was near ALIEN level gross to me as a kid. Just short of Vashta Nerada or Weepin Angel level scary. And the sounds…..ick.

At least face-huggers can’t levitate.
