I was about to say that Tennant 2.0 would be the Fourteenth as RTD is already calling Gatwa the Fifteenth. But then I realized, you're adjusting for the War Doctor, aren't you? EDIT: Never mind, just saw you post in the Special's discussion thread and know what you're really referring to. I think we can both agree at this point the Doctor's numbering system is a mess, to put it mildly.
I disagree. There was absolutely no reason for what's happened to happen other than pandering fanwank, which reduces Jodie's farewell to a footnote and dininishes Ncuti's eventual arrival. That's disrespectful to them both.
You haven't seen it yet have you so my lips are sealed but you'll understand (and yes the numberings all over the place!)
Damn, I think I edited my above post at the same time you wrote yours. Needless to say, I am aware of what you're referring to.
I followed the Spoilers so that I don't have to see it right now because I think the decision is the height of stupidity (hence why I dismissed it as BS) and the absolute definition of pandering fanwank.
If nothing else this whole thing has reminded me that Council of Geeks is a good YouTube channel that I should really start watching again.
The press coverage of the Tennant reveal (which is gamely treating it as some kind of big surprise, bless them) confirms that the three specials will air in November 2023, with Gatwa’s full debut later in the year.
I was about to point out the same. It'll be interesting to get three specials in such short succession as oppose to spread through out the year. That's also going to be weird. ...maybe we'll get a surprise holiday mini-special as a side story? Yeah, probably not.
Wow, this thread title wound up being a little inaccurate concerning the number of returning characters.
I don't have the energy to dig through old posts to find it, but I seem to recall Digific also saying there definitely wouldn't be three anniversary specials, something we now know is true.
The thread title's in respect of the announcement that Tennant and Tate are back as co-leads for the 60th, not any of the cameos in Power of the Doctor
I know right? And for the first time in, what, decades, some unspoiled stuff? I had ZERO clue we would get all those others, even as cameos.
