As an aside, on another discussion site it was pointed out that in the last episode, Luthen's workshop has a couple objects that resemble the Sankara Stones from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. This, with the item that some viewers think looks like Indy's whip frozen in carbonite, seen in episode 4, has some intriguing implications. 
Sure, the coiled thing is vague enough that it could really be any old coiled cord or cable, and there is a noticeable difference in carving on the stones. But if people want to have fun with these as 'easter eggs,' be my guest.

Except for the fact that other characters in the movie call her "Senator."
The movie doesn't "require it" but it certainly acts as if she was still in the senate, including by having other characters call her such.
Given the utter disgust she displays towards the senate in rebels
and the declaration of her "new action", it doesn't jibe that should would think bringing Galen Erso to the senate would do any good nor that she would still actively use the title.
Yes, I'll grant "Rogue One" doesn't ever come right out and say, "Hey, I'm Senator Mon Mothma", but the implication is all across the movie.
Yes, there's "wiggle room", but it's clearly an incompatibility. You're free to ignore it, of course
"Senator" would be her last official title, and thus the one she still gets called from time to time. Like a retired general still being referred to as "General" even though they no longer serve. Or a President that has left office.
As for Rogue One, the Senate still exists, and the Rebels still have people on it (Princess Leia Organa is the Senator from Alderaan), and a public exposure of the Death Star to the Galaxy via the Senate is basically the last non-violet approach Mon Mothma has left. While she knows it won't stop the Emperor, it may be enough to break some of the more comfortable systems that don't see the Empire for what it is. It won't break the hardliners, but the Rebels hope that if the truth of the Death Star came out at this point, they might be able to get a larger part of the galaxy to rebel like the CIS did prior to the Clone Wars. Thus giving the Rebellion a lot more resources to fight the Empire.
But, with Death Star completed, the capture of Princess Leia, and the exposer of the Rebel Fleet at Scariff, the Emperor gets the excuse he needs to dissolve the Senate, closing the CIS route forever. The destruction of Alderaan both enflames part of the galaxy while leaving others in absolute fear that they could be next. Its destruction will being systems to the Rebellion, but no where near the numbers the CIS had in the Clones Wars. Only the destruction of the Second Death Star and the death of Palpatine will being that level of Rebellion to reality (leading to the Empire falling apart within a year)

She's also still referred to as Senator in Rebels even after she resigns. It's not an inconsistency.
She was a Senator in the Republic she's trying to restore, it could be a mark of respect, an honorific.
Like others mentioned above, some military leaders and world leaders are continued to be referred with their titles even after they're no-longer officially using them.

Except, Mothma is working form an Alliance to Restore the Republic. So, if she thought the institution was deeply corrupt then why restore it? They should just destroy it and create a new government. She was a senator before the Empire would could just as easily keep the title to legitimize her claim that she wishes to bring the Republic back, rather than what it became over the course of Palpatine's tenure.
The Imperial version of it, not the republic version.
Pretty good episode. Wasn’t actually expecting them to actually get the money. As soon as they said he was a Stormtrooper, I knew he was going to die. They’re useless. 
I hope we see Sidious down the line. Without the boss getting interested, how I’m I supposed to see these people as a threat.

Am I reading too much into things, or did Cinta quietly murder that family off-screen?
Good little heist story overall; high tension without being too overwrought. As expected it didn't go according to plan and almost everyone died - including their inside man - though they got away with more that I'd expected.
Have to admit, I didn't see Skeen's turn coming. For a moment there I even thought he was lying to try and draw Cassian out into a betrayal; one final loyalty test. Should have guessed something was off about him when his go-to move was to put a gun to the kid's head.
One of the more interesting aspects of the show is how it's humanising the Imperials as much as everyone else. Some like the Commandant are genuinely awful people, but you understand why they're they way they are how they are. In his case it's just greed and ambition combined with a certain desperation from being stuck in a miserable, low prestige assignment. The Colonel on the other hand is an engineer, only interested in doing his job, and almost heroic in his way since he was the first to take action and his priority was protecting the boy (which is more than the kid's own father could muster.)

The Imperial Senate is a vestigial organ at this point, hardly any representatives are even showing up for session leaving most of the senatorial platforms dark and empty. Also another mention of the Ghorman; clearly they're planting seeds there for the uninitiated.

I will need to watch that scene again. That would be very dark for Star Wars if true.
There's nothing to really directly imply it. It's just the way she was the only one left behind, is clearly the calmest of the group, has a VERY personal beef with Imperials, then she just casually walks out of the base into the valley and they never cut back to the hostages. It could be nothing, but they did see all of their faces . . .
I enjoyed it. I liked the stark difference in the senate. The lighting, the relative silence. Nobody waving their arms like many representatives did when Padme told the Senate about the blockade.... I also liked how there appeared to be nobody leading the hearing/session with the chancellor/emperor in that pod floating around...

sad to see him bite the dust so soon though.

bites the dust in the hangar, it all makes sense > he wasn't holding the weapon correctly some episodes ago now.
"my rebellion is me vs everybody else"'
Was surprised by his "I'm just in it for myself" turn so he didn't have a brother apparently.
Thought he was testing Andor first. Did not see that one coming at all.
Andor made short work of it tough.
Cinta
is the most interesting characters of the heist crew to me.
Hope we'll get to see her down the line, maybe even facing of vs her partner, but still fighting for the rebellion.
She is willing to cross lines and do what needs to be done.
Her partner seems hesitant.

- the meteor or whatever light show(er) was cool on it's own from the early individual ones to the great colorful spectacle.
- the tie fighter's getting ready and into it scene and then later pulverized in the light show was awesome.

It actually seems appropriate that he's an expert at marching and looking the part of a soldier, but didn't know enough to position his troops so they don't get in each others' way when the shooting starts. Not because he's stupid, but because it reflects his training. Despite what Imperial propaganda might claim, Stormtroopers are not elite soldiers. They're jumped up riot cops with heavy weapons. An army of disposable conscripts given borderline useless weapons and armour, with only enough training to get them to look the part and follow orders. They may be dressed like Clone Troopers, but they're deployed like Battle Droids, using sheer numbers to overwhelm."order barking fromer storm tropper"

Just nerves I think. It's pretty clear that despite the bluster, she's never actually done anything this big before.

We got a couple "slow" eps that focused on the heist preparation and getting to know our characters. And this ep was a good payoff. We get the heist and some good action. I did not predict Skeen's betrayal. I am sad for Manifesto Boy dying. I liked his character.
This show is also doing a good job of showing us the inner workings of the Empire that previous shows did not do. We see that the Galactic Senate is basically gone as the Emperor rules with complete authority. We also see that there is a lot of bureaucracy to hold the Empire together. I wonder if we will see Palpatine?
