Things that frustrate us all

Ran into two of my biggest pet peeves at work the last couple days. One is getting two different people over me telling me to do two different things, and the other is getting blown off with "just put it somewhere", when I ask where something goes. Just put it somewhere drives me nuts for two reasons, one is that when I'm in a situation like that I really don't function well without specific instructions, the other is that one other of my biggest peeves is when people put merchandise in the wrong spot, so it really pisses me off when my bosses tell to do that on purpose. I confess I've been known to literally just stick my hand behind misplaced stuff that won't break, and just push it off the shelf and onto the floor when people do that. Obviously, I'll pick it and put it where it's supposed to go once I'm done with my temper tantrum.
 
Well, I couldn't take it any more and quit my job today. I never should have gone back, I thought I could just not let it get to me this, but I wasn't able to.
 
After three months of YouTube without commercials (it was a free promotion), it's finally run out, and ads are back.

Not that I couldn't manage the ten bucks a month to keep it going, but they were just too obnoxious about rubbing my nose in it. I really don't like pushy salespeople.
 
2 weeks ago my mom was scheduled to have hip replacement surgery...at 5 a.m. :ack: They cancelled 4 hours after we got there. The hospital didn't call with a time for the new surgery until 4 pm today. It's at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning...ugh.
 
What the fuck is it with men telling women, a person they don't even know, to smile? I'm standing in a store, looking at SOAP, ffs, and some random guy steps in front of me and says, "Smile! I bet you look pretty when you smile."

I just stared back at him, then picked up my item, turned my back and went to the check out counter. Who the fuck is he to tell me what to do? I walked out of the store and made damn sure he wasn't following me. This has happened to me several times. I'm not young or good looking, so I assume this isn't a flirtation so WTF?

Just irritated the hell out of me.

Never seen that happen before. Regional thing, maybe?
 
Weird. Never seen that before. Certainly not in grocery stores soap aisles.

I expect I'd just give them a smile. But then, one, I'm male. Two, when I actively try to smile at someone, I look like I'm planning to kill them. :evil: Which is why I typically stay in the background during group photos.

Even if we ignore the fact for a minute that since you're not in the target group, you'd be less likely to encounter the behaviour... if I said something like "I've never witnessed a car accident; maybe they're a regional thing?", you would probably still (rightly) call me out on the logical fallacy.

But this isn't some obscure, isolated phenomenon. There's been a lot written on the subject, if you're interested in learning more.

1. I AM interested, so thanks. And no offense intended. If someone pestered me to smile, I'd probably be pissed off as well.
2. I never tell anyone to smile, unless they hand me their phone and ask me to photograph them, and I kind of thought it was expected then.
3. Perfect response: "I will, once you go away." I personally prefer Sonya Blade's version ("you die, I smile"), but not everyone can pull that one off.
