I Googled it, and got hits on several sites, but only Giant Freakin Robot declares it "in development". So, pretty sure it's like the reported S31 spin-off, Janeway spin-off, and fourth Kelvin movie... a possibility at this point.

On the other hand, if PIC has a fanbase adequate to justify continuation, even if Patrick Stewart is ready to hang up his commbadge, Seven would be a logical choice as a lead.

GFR? Yikes.

yeah, while I wouldn’t be shocked if we got a 7 of 9 series let me know when it’s been reported by a legit outlet like Variety, Hollywood Reporter, etc… or if it comes directly from Ryan or Kurtzman.

The top 3 are extremely close and I find it hard to pick one over the other. But I'll do it anyway if I have to:

1. Sisko -- well, he's Sisko. Don't know what else to say. Also the only one in the top 3 who wasn't harmed by revival shows and films.
2. Picard -- well, he's Picard. Falls flat in the namesake show though, I have no qualms with exploring him from a different angle, but the show just doesn't do anything interesting with him.
3. Kirk -- especially in the first season of TOS, where he's the most calm and charming imo, and pretty much the opposite of how he's thought of by internet memes and such. Kelvin Kirk can sod off though.
4. Janeway -- I like her, but she falls off a little due to inconsistent writing. Sometimes she follows protocol to a tee, other times she doesn't give a shit. Sometimes she's all caring and super ethical, then she tries to torture a prisoner. But I see this more as a VOY problem than a Janeway problem.
5. Mariner -- close call to Janeway. She can be exhausting because she's a human-sized tornado and sometimes I want to tell her to slow down a few hundred kph. But in the end I like her just the way she is and don't want her to change.
6. Burnham -- I was looking forward to her pre-launch but hated the character early on after what I perceived as character assassination in the pilot. Recovered from that with time in my head, but after season 3 I'm still indifferent. But that's a general problem I have with DIS, it's the only Trek show where I can't connect with anyone and I struggle to find anything really interesting.
257. Archer -- don't get me started.

Pike -- haven't watched SNW yet, but if he's like in DIS, he's ok I guess.
Dal -- haven't watched Prodigy either and actually had to google to even find out his gender/pronouns. But I do know one thing, he's better than Archer.

Ain't that the truth. The TOS crowd did all right with movies (four good ones, one decent, one bad), but the TNG group didn't fare so well. One wonders if DS9 would have done better.

Agreed. I could have just as easily seen her ending "Thirty Days" sneaking through that oxygen refinery with a phaser rifle and a satchel full of explosive charges. In her singlet, of course.

257. Archer -- don't get me started.

So... you're saying you think Archer's character could have benefited from a few minor tweaks? ;)

Maybe if they promoted Mayweather to captain. Seriously, did that guy even make one mistake?

Mayweather has proven to be a much better diplomat than Archer, so count me in.

Just look at how he handled the Kretassians in "Vox Sola". He didn't even need dreads or a chainsaw, either.

That kid should have at least made lieutenant by the third season. Fourth at the latest.

true, we don’t want another “Section 31 is still totally happening” situation.
Hey that Khan thing is finally materialising YEARS after it was talked about and forgotten... as a podcast.

Section 31: The podcast. Lots of grunting during fight sequences.

Sisko. Picard was my first (and still much beloved) captain, but Sisko always appealed more as a leader and well-rounded character. He also has a bit of an advantage - as @Gul Sengosts points out - in his story having not really been touched in the primary canon since DS9 wrapped. I don't have to account for a bad movie or a weak series or an AU take - the character is still as he was in memory.
