That's what I'm wondering. I'd like to see them go back to that mystery.

Why do you assume it's Section 31?

31 is in the mobile game and they look like in his memory, 31 would do these things, ...who else?

I'm still hoping they'll address the fact that Rutherford's implant was totally replaced after S1, so either the mystery dudes managed to subvert that one in transit to the Cerritos OR any dodgy stuff they did is software-based and infected his new implant when he restored from backups. Along with making him like pears, the evil swines!

That's part of the mystery that intrigues me. :) We truly (at this point) don't know who, or how, or why. I'm hoping we get at least a little info.

    The mobile game isn't canon.

Exactly so. Especially since I doubt a mobile game is canon so anything hinted at in there likely has zero bearing on what the writers will do.

You're the one who brought it up.

I'm just saying, just because they're in the game, doesn't mean they're going to be in the show.

No clip for Episode 6 of Lower Decks at the end of the Ready Room because as Wil said "too spoilery", so they give us a still image instead

is "and they look like in his memory" really that hard to grasp?
    and tell us: who else?

@NCC-73515, I think you’re able to navigate this conversation without the eyerolling, snark and questioning the grasp of other posters. Give it a try, please.

Not every rogue starfleet officer is Section 31.

Always. It's just that unwarranted canon debates do trigger me ;)
No offense intended. I'll try to explain it differently...
(Note that there's some history as well, like them calling the fact that something is not part of the question "moving goalposts"... ;))

    1. 31 people are drawn a certain way in the game.
    2. 31 has been mentioned several times on LDS.
    3. whenever something is drawn a certain way, it has been consistent on LDS so far.
    4. the only group of people who would do such things that we know of is 31.
    5. other rogue officers were in the maquis - do you think it's the maquis doing this? what other rogue groups do we know?
    6. the fact that characters are drawn the same way in two different formats has nothing to do at all with what is canonical or not.
    7. canon is the selection of stories, facts, details, that are considered as part of the official world of a franchise. the game's story has nothing to do with this discussion, only that the characters do look the same.

I don't know how else to explain why canon debates make no sense here.

Sometimes they do it all on their own.
