Surely something good happened to you today

Good and bad. I was waddling out to check the mail and I had to wait for a big truck before crossing the road. The truck slowed down as it approached me, making me a little nervous but then I saw it was an old friend from the Coast Guard base. He retired 3 years ago and it was good to see him. He said he was just driving around, and then I noticed his open can of Bud Light on the console. Before I could say anything someone drove up behind him and he drove off.

Got a new gig at a different warehouse that pays better so handed in my resignation this arvo. Haven't been entirely happy in my current job for a bit but I could look past it because I liked my role, but that changed earlier this year and we've been constantly bleeding all our talented people for a long while now. I look fondly on my job because it really did change my life but I'm excited to try something new.

So glad we don't have fires in our area, but so many people do. The air is so smokey and hard to breathe right now. But so far our city is not having to leave. Feel for those in areas where they have to though. :(.
So happy thought, we are still in our home and all is okay.

Had a very nice day. Got to spend time with friends, something I haven't done for MONTHS. It was an early birthday present.

We went out and did a bunch of girly things --got a manicure and pedicure for the first time in several years. Then had a huge dinner at a great local Italian place.

I have a fridge full of leftovers, got to to talk to friends, and got a few nice gifts: a blue umbrella, a new blue cover for my tablet and a notepad with "Singer Salvage" letterhead. (It's a "Supernatural" thing).

Tomorrow is my actual birthday, and there's no work scheduled, so I have another day off. Can't complain.

Happy Birthday @auntiehill .

It's my birthday today, and while I was disappointed I didn't get to say hi to any of my horse friends on my morning bike, but my mom and I did have successful search for the wild donkeys out at the park. It took a while to find them, and I was commenting on how disappointed I was that I didn't get to say hi to any horses on my bike ride and now we weren't finding any donkey, and then just a few minutes later we looked up and there was one watching us off in the distance. A second one eventually showed up, but these were apparently not any of the ones we've seen before, because we couldn't anywhere near as close to them as the others. A lot of the others we've seen have probably let us get with in 30ft - 50ft, but these two started walking away at about three or four times that distance. There have been a few times where the ones we usually see have actually gotten closer to us while we watched them.

Happy Birthday yesterday. :techman:
