That is a hopeful message. The fact that he said that CBS is on board with some things definitely looks interesting.
I can't imagine the hell Ben and his crew must be going through now, looking for new jobs in what could be quite a small niche market. The failing global economy won't help matters any, either. I really feel for them and wish them all the best. If CBS does try to restart these formerly-Eaglemoss projects, I hope Ben and his team can find themselves an opportunity working for whomever takes up that mantle. Fingers crossed.

Remember all those times Paramount announced Star Trek 4? This has only a slightly greater chance of happening. Fingers crossed, though.
Eaglemoss probably made more money for Paramount than Star Trek Beyond, so there is that.
Eaglemoss wasn't big enough to have it's own dedicated factories, everything was likely made under contract with facilities in China, so in theory it shouldn't be too hard for another company to take over production of the existing molds. I'd say what needs to be addressed is more the sales and marketing aspects of the business, which is where Eaglemoss clowned it .
I'd say the partswork models would likely take priority, there are several other companies making similar, so 1) they're already set up to market those and 2) it makes some sense to grab them to avoid undermining confidence in that entire product space.

Yeah, it will likely end up in some shops here in the UK - they may even auction of pallets of the stuff. It's hard to know what will be for sale. I wonder if some shops already have some of it. For example, HMV here in the UK seem to have a glut of XL Enterprise D and E's for sale.

It really is crazy how hard it is to find the two Lower Decks ships now. Really regret now waiting on them to release a smaller version of each.
I mean, you can still find most everything on eBay, it just depends how much your willing to pay. But the LD stuff is just not out there.

I've seen the Titan but, as of last week, you couldn't touch it for under $125.

Even before the announcement, I had noticed there were several UK-based eBay sellers clearancing Eaglemoss models, hopefully some of them will get remaining stock and make it a little easier for people to fill holes in their collections.
I'm glad I bit the bullet on the XL Cerritos , I figured any regular release was only going to be marginally smaller and not all that different in price.
On that note, that there was such minimal difference between some of the newer ships and their XL versions is one of the things that I believe contributed to Eaglemoss' undoing. The startup costs, molds, etc., of both are essentially identical, but they're so similar they likely cannibalized each other's sales.
I have the feeling for most ships we're currently at the point where prices are highest as folks panic and scramble to grab things they missed. I'd be willing to bet that they'll drop back down to where they were previously after interest wanes - shoot, two months ago Eaglemoss was practically giving them away and people barely cared.
By the way, cool that you managed to pick up a USS Glenn. It's funny, I was a dirty completist until that ship, once I wasn't able to get that I was like, "fuck it, I guess I don't need to get them all" - which makes me half wonder if Eaglemoss shot themselves in the foot with a lot of other collectors very similarly to how Playmates ruined things with their entire "1701" debacle.
I forgot about that. Yes, it is a fine line these companies must tread when they put out a "limited run" item like the Glenn (found it for $250 from a Canadian seller - they usually go for $400-450). I was just at the right place at the right time, and a little help from AuctionStealer. 
I would have gone up to $375 for the thing, if I'm honest. One must have a sniper's patience for a hobby like ours sometimes. Such a strategic business model, however, can potentially make or break a company. I don't think the decision to do the Glenn broke Eaglemoss, but they fell into that same trap thinking that doing such a limited run would somehow increase interest in the line. It didn't necessarily hurt them, but it didn't help them either. I think maybe the DSC workbee and transparent "cloaked" Defiant were others that were considered ComiCon (or DragonCon) exclusives, but a lot easier to find.
I used to be an avid collector of non-sports cards. Those things played some serious hell on my collector's OCD. I was relatively successful back in the day, with foil chase, motion/3d lenticular chase, signature cards, costume fragment cards, the whole nines... But THEN ... some sadistic sonofabitch came up with an idea of putting out a series of "artist cards" for the NuBSG line (I think it was Rittenhouse maybe). Basically, a bunch of well-known comic book artists were given blank cards, a production still of something from the movies/shows, and were asked to draw a limited x-number of copies of their interpretation of the given pictures. This means no two cards are exactly alike and have multiple intentional color/pattern variations, etc. My perfect collection ended when I discovered those things floating around out there, literally impossible to get them all. There was no point after that.

Does anyone else get a little thrill from the styrofoam squeak when you're extracting the XL model from the box?
