They should make movies then shelve them for tax purposes too! Star Trek 4, anyone?

Safe to assume that all Max specific movies are goners regardless of how close to completion they are. Even the ones already on the service are in trouble. Not DC but the director of the new "Evil Dead" movie made for HBO Max has been hinting that it's going to be shelved.
We have seen ‘The Flash,’ ‘Black Adam’ and ‘Shazam 2,'” said Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav during the company’s Q2 earnings call on Thursday. “We are very excited about them. We’ve seen them. We think they are terrific, and we think we can make them even better.”
Zaslav also defended the company’s recent decision to kill the “Batgirl” movie starring Leslie Grace, saying: “We’re not going to launch a movie until it’s ready. We’re not going to launch a movie to make a quarter, and we’re not going to put a movie out unless we believe in it.”
Reports are starting to come out. Flash is still happening, but sounds like there will be more reshoots
Massive reshoots totally worked out for justice league theatrical! Obviously they decided to try it again.I'm pretty sure we can toss the current release dates for Shazam, Aquaman and Flash in the bin.
Movies with male leads: "We think we can make them even better."
Movie with female lead: "We're not going to put a movie out unless we believe in it."
I agree it is sound but won't be good enough.Sound if that is the plan. Certain viewers may not like it, but their interest is not keeping a company alive.
Heh...any one else want popcorn? This is hilarious.Zaslav believes women are only interested in reality shows.

For the good of the entertainment industry, we really really need Zaslav to fail miserably here. Success would mean nothing less than the death of streaming as we know it.Heh...any one else want popcorn? This is hilarious.
"We will seek to attract the best storytellers... To produce the most diverse storytelling in the world." - Zaslav
Perrette starts by slamming the streaming business model https://t.co/fBfjYkRKwM
Zaslav says that "nourishing" a film over time on streaming, "we cannot find an economic case for it, we cannot find an economic value for it."
Movies may be launched with shorter windows, or different campaigns; but the focus will always be on theatrical.
Zaslav says that "most people came to Hollywood to be on the big screen, when the lights go out," not to go to streaming. Does say that movies will later go to HBO Max. "We're not going to put a movie out unless we believe in it. Particularly in DC..."
Zaslav: "The objective is to grow the DC brand, to grow the DC characters. But also, our job is to protect the DC brand. And that's what we're going to do."
"Our strategy is to embrace and drive the incredible success that HBO Max is having," Zaslav says, shouting out that not only does Casey Bloys read scripts, but his team fights with talent??? What? Is he? Talking about?
"We're going to spend more money on content. We're a content company," says Zaslav calling out HBO, HBO Max, Warner Bros. TV. Spending will only go up.
Zaslav says that there's a "big group of people in America who love premium content... There's a lot of people who will be willing to pay a lot more for the content we have."
Success would mean nothing less than the death of streaming as we know it.
He did basically say that there will be reshoots. Maybe miller is done and will be edited out...Saying "we're going to have a ten year plan" and not having step one of that plan being doing something about the psychopathicly violent alleged pedophile you keep employing doesn't get you off to a good start.

How about the fact that HBO is the home of Sex And The City, the ultimate female skewing show...He's going to edit out the star who's in practically every scene but won't even dump Batgirl on streaming to make what money it can? This guy...
What is this, the 1960s? Fandoms don't skew female? Does he know anything about the history of women and fandoms?
