Not sure what Benny Hill would be like now, i remember watching it growing up and enjoying it but can imagine finding one episode mildly funny then the rest repetitive.
A LOT of comedy and humor in the 20th century wouldn't be done today. People are generally too uptight now.
Very true that, I doubt basil would get away even with his 'don't mention the war' comments these days, when in actual fact even back in the 70s it portrayed him, comically, as being in the wrong.
JK Simmons can't get a break on TV. First Counterpart, now this. It was an odd show, very slow but not in a bad way. I was very curious to see where it went. Oh well. One of my favorites:
That sucks about Night Sky. While it was a slow starter for me, I really enjoyed it by the end. AND I still want to know what happened to the neighbor, dammit!!
TBS has cancelled the Nasim Pedrad comedy series Chad - and only a few hours before season two was supposed to premiere (after a delay from April when it was originally supposed to premier).
And Desus and Mero will not be back for a fifth season due to the hosts splitting up to work on individual projects.
Scott Bakula's show, Unbroken, won't be on NBC. They took a pass on it. NBC also passed on another show, Blank Slate.
Niceeeeeeeee I think it might stand a better chance on a streaming service but hopefully it will be good and have a good run.
And the next victim of the Warner Bros./Discovery merger has been revealed: Full Frontal with Samantha Bee won't be back for season eight (Snowpiercer, Miracle Workers and American Dad are still up-in-the-air). There is a target on your back if you are a scripted television series.
Granted that show is 8 years old so it's likely expensive as well despite being a reality tv talk show.
They have. They had to shut down production the other day due to extreme heat in British Colombia. https://deadline.com/2022/07/snowpi...ded-british-columbia-extreme-heat-1235081297/
