-By the time Inoue was brought on, the title of DonBrothers, the motif of Momotaro and his companions, and why an Oni was included in the team was already decided
-Shirakura: We were a little apprehensive of having the 1st episode of a boy-targeted show be from the point of view of a female character, but because Shida Kohaku is such an wonderful actress we did it.
-Inoue: The producers choosing Shida was an amazing choice.
-Haruka saying "Gue!" was from the script, but the director saw how much everyone liked it and decided to include it in as many episodes as they could. Shida's "Gue!" shout is truly amazing. (The rest of this portion is basically just Shirakura and Inoue praising Shida.)
Shirakura: The Master being Goshikida Kaito was Shirakura's idea; "it's okay to change his character arbitrarily if need be, to have him appear."
-Inoue did not view Zenkaiger at all (Shirakura didn't want to "string along the character from the previous season" so he stopped at just getting him to appear)
-The Master version of Kaito ended up becoming a "sexy character." Recently the affection for Kaito (Kogamine) has grown, and he's begun to appear more regularly in various works.
Because of that we were concerned "Can we guarantee Kogamine's schedule?"
-It was originally planned for the motif and powers of each HitotsuKi to be explained within the plot and setting, but it was decided instead that the Hitotsuki could just appear in addition to the plot of the episode as well. This was done so it wouldn't be looked at as "impossible" for some of these human characters to become HitotsuKi and have their specific powers.
-The character of Miho ended up appearing more than originally planned as well; Momoko Arata (Miho/Natsumi) was surprised about this too
-Sayama Keiji was not planned to be a Juuto at first; he was only supposed to guest star for that one episode
Shirakura: With (Inoue) Sensei's scripts, it's impossible to tell whether characters who are set to appear once will have connections to the plot going forward. The Shirokuma staff were also supposed to only be guest appearances, weren't they?
-(The conversation went on for a bit like this); it's a little like being constricted by your own two hands, but there is a vague image of what the final episode is going to be already- a Happy End that might make you shed some tears.
-Japanese dramas "explain too much". Explanations are good to make characters, and mysteries interesting however, it was thought that "not knowing stuff becomes interesting" and DonBrothers was written with that in mind.
-They assume the audience wants to know why Sonoi saved Taro, but Sonoi's answer of "I don't want to answer" is something that Taro was satisfied with. There's no need to explain the emotions outright; they're enough as-is. If Sonoi had said "Actually, it's because I like you a little bit", it kind of dampens the mood no? (laughing)
-We did not want to "tramp down" what kind of characters these characters are. Humans grow, and sometimes show you surprising sides of themselves. From here on out, we will use all facets of the changes in human nature.
-The goal is to make every episode of DonBrothers a "Situation Drama." As an example, I would like to write an episode like "there is a line for a Ramen Shop, and all the DonBrothers happen to be lined up to eat there."
-Shirakura: The movie, differing from the TV show, is an excited, flurry of a scenario. The Revice movie is likely what people expect of a "traditional hero film" but this opening act as it were is more of a lively presentation to warm the audience up.
-Shirakura mentions that usually you would have several writers contribute on a show like this, but from the start, he knew that was impossible. For DonBrothers there was no other option but to ask Inoue to write the entire show.
