Even the overhead readout screens have blue outlines around them in some scenes, mimicking the bordered screens and stellar images.
I really enjoyed the fact that they looked at the printed plastic overlays that TOS used and stuck with the brown/orange color scheme that many of the 'display' schematics and other 'graphics' screens of TOS used.Even the overhead readout screens have blue outlines around them in some scenes, mimicking the bordered screens and stellar images.
No more different than the TOS ship looked to TMP. It's a great revamping of the original just as the movie did in the 70s.Can we just stop with the ridiculous notion that these two images look nothing alike? I mean..... seriously. To 99% of the population, the difference is negligible. To say it looks NOTHING like the TOS version is just being incredibly petty.![]()

But of course! They look absolutely NOTHING alike, right?Except what you didn’t do was show comparisons of the inside of the ship.

I'm not arguing that things don't look different, they obviously do. What irks me is a asinine idea that it looks NOTHING at all like TOS, when they clearly went to great effort to invoke the original designs both inside and outside the ship. It dismiss these efforts if nothing but pure pettiness.
No worries. I knew what you were doing. Sarcasm is really all I have left for the people who can't appreciate the efforts put forward for this show.Just for clarity I was being a dick - 100% agree with you about the efforts they have gone to wrt making it look as close to the original as possible

There are some model builders who would do the work for a price.I think she's absolutely gorgeous! More then worthy of her name. I've already got the eaglemoss XL version of her from Discovery and I'm eagerly awaiting an updated one for Strange New Worlds. I've even got the upcoming Hallmark ornament pre-ordered.
She has quickly become one of my fav Starships. I just with I still had the time or patience to build one of those 1:1000 scale models with the lighting kit. Sadly, between work and fatherhood, I just don't see it happening. That said, were a company to put out a higher end, pre-built model..... I could easily see myself more then willing to slap down a few bills for it.
I think the biggest reason for not appreciating the efforts is because the efforts are not what fans would have done and are not what fans are invested in. It is as much a challenge to fan identity as it is a lack of fulfillment of expectations, because fans have spent way more time watching the shows and studying the technical details than the vast majority of production team members do not appreciate, especially as a whole. No worries.
