Even the overhead readout screens have blue outlines around them in some scenes, mimicking the bordered screens and stellar images.
SNW truly respects TOS continuity!

I really enjoyed the fact that they looked at the printed plastic overlays that TOS used and stuck with the brown/orange color scheme that many of the 'display' schematics and other 'graphics' screens of TOS used.
It honestly shows that they cared enough to pay attention to some very small small details when designing the SNW Bridge screens visual looks.

The only thing I'd change right now would be the blinky multicolored indicator lights which don't flash and blink in this version of the ship, arguably the only part of the SNW bridge that's less advanced than its 1960s counterpart. I'd love to see them actually blink like the old displays.
No more different than the TOS ship looked to TMP. It's a great revamping of the original just as the movie did in the 70s.Can we just stop with the ridiculous notion that these two images look nothing alike? I mean..... seriously. Oh, the SNW ship is a whole lot closer to the TOS version. The TMP refit was so much more radically different.

Except what you didn’t do was show comparisons of the inside of the ship.
Replace the struts/warp nacelles with the WNMHGB or TOS ones and I would complain much less.

It all depends on one's perspective. SNW, and Discovery before it, basically challenged the idea that there could be more than one interpretation of the TOS era. "Close enough " is not sufficient when going against 50 years depending on the point of view. If treating TOS as strict history it won't work.
The ready room and second set of red doors in SNW shows it's a different bridge module from the one we see in TOS. Same ship, different equipment depending on the year.
But of course! They look absolutely NOTHING alike, right?
I think you'll find that the door looks to be about 7.81 degrees further round in that image, therefore it is all ruined. If the producers cared they would have got the door at the right angle
I'm not arguing that things don't look different, they obviously do. What irks me is the asinine idea that it looks NOTHING at all like TOS, when they clearly went to great effort to invoke the original designs both inside and outside the ship. To dismiss these efforts is nothing but pure pettiness.

I'm pretty strict in my purity of canon and I think SNW knocks it out the park. I remember when ENT and DISCO came out and people mocked the idea of TOS-era looking ships and uniforms being modernized but still doable. That there was no choice but to just revamp the look. They probably had the images of low-budget fan fiction on youtube that kept to the 60s aesthetic as much as possible.
Yet, the uniforms and the ship for SNW were modernized (also in Abrams-Trek) and completely look good.
I don't know if it respects every aspect of canon (to be honest I don't re-watch TOS often so I'm iffy on the details). However, I think SNW when it comes to the uniforms and ships? I love it.

Cool - at first read I thought you may have taken it seriously (problem of text comms, even though my point was phrased ridiculously there is always a chance that I am a fully gone hater of it).
I have to say, so far the show is pushing my Top 3 of Trek and whilst I'm not a huge visuals guy re: canon etc I do love the way they have blended modern stylings with the overall original look
There are some model builders who would do the work for a price.
I think the biggest reason for not appreciating the efforts is because the efforts are not what fans would have done and are not what fans are invested in. It is as much a challenge to fan identity as it is a lack of fulfillment of expectations, because fans have spent way more time watching the shows and studying the technical details than the vast majority of production team members do not appreciate, especially as a whole.
It all combines together to create a sense of disappointment when the production team is doing their best to be creative in their job. And the two goals are often at odds with each other because a lot of fans hope for something faithfully recreating the past, while creative staff want something that is dynamic and satisfies their job requirements and their own creativity.
I've thought about that, but was never sure where or who to ask. Nevermind the issues of shipping it, probably internationally. Still, it's an option.
