Kathleen “Star Wars films have no source material” Kennedy? That one?No, she's doing a fine job. She approved all the new stuff you enjoy.
Whoever replaces her will do the same thing, approve things you dislike and like.
I don't see this point of view, personally. Opinions will vary, sure, but just about everything Kennedy has taken a direct hand in has turned into a train wreck,
I don't love EVERYTHING Filoni has done, but I love way more of it than I don't, and Kennedy and her woke, raging feminism has done severe damage to the franchise. I'm well aware opinions will vary violently on this.
What exactly is Kathleen Kennedy's role with Lucasfilm? I always see people blaming her for the creative choices in the movies, but I'd been under the impression that she was more on the business side of things. The only credits I've seen her get are as producer, and as far as I can tell she hasn't written, directed, or even gotten a "story by" credit for anything. But some people seem to be acting like she's the one who came up with the stuff in the movies and shows that didn't like.
”woke, raging feminism” wasn’t really the issue with the sequel trilogy or solo. Lack of a plan, lack of coherence and very sloppy writing were.I don't love EVERYTHING Filoni has done, but I love way more of it than I don't, and Kennedy and her woke, raging feminism has done severe damage to the franchise. Not a fan of “somehow, Palpatine lives”?”woke, raging feminism” wasn’t really the issue with the sequel trilogy or solo. Lack of a plan, lack of coherence and very sloppy writing were.

definitely not. And I adore Ian McDiarmid. Having him show up with zero explanation in a videogame and the beginning titles was…Typical Abrams. Not a fan of “somehow, Palpatine lives”?![]()

Anakin, the chosen one, brought balance to the Force by destroying the Emperor, just as the prophecy foretold.
her woke, raging feminism
Too late for that plot-thread now, but before the prequels, I always imagined that Owen or Beru might be a sibling of Kenobi's. It would have made sense in world where Anakin Skywalker didn't grow up on Tatooine with his mother marrying Clieg Lars. It would also explain Owen's seemingly innate dislike of Kenobi, inasmuch as he considered him a danger to Luke.

Hopefully not.Oh, did they finally make that film adaptation of "Heir to the Empire" people were asking for?
We don't use meanings. We live in the Humpty Dumpty world of word meanings now.Yeah, I think it's obvious from context what Kennedy meant. Star Wars as a franchise is an (ongoing) original story; it's all new material. Lucas wasn't directly adapted anything when he started (at least not after the rightsholders to Flash Gordon told him to buzz off.) Compare that the to only logical point of comparison: the MCU, which has going on 80 years worth of material to directly draw upon and direct.
But of course none of this matters if all one is interesting in is being obtuse and pithy. I mean "context", "word meaning things"?! Pffft!![]()
