very true: the thing is really hard to do properly.I only ever met three or four aikidoka, all Yudansha and three trained in Japan, that could effectively- I mean really effectively- apply 4th control. For the rest of us it was an ongoing study.

Disagree.That's a good way of explaining it away but I don't think it's that, the swords themselves don't look right, I think it's a prop/choreography issue rather than anything deliberate.
