Spoilers The Boys: Season 3 on Amazon Prime Video (2022)

Maybe but Homelander (Antony Starr) is so delightfully psychopathic that the show would lose one very important cornerstore on which it was built, i don't believe any show has the balls to kill off its main villain without having a damn good follow up or a plan. Neuman is ok but so far not on the same level as Homelander.

Yeah, Antony Starr really did swoop in and made the Homelander character really his (like with Ledger's Joker or Brolin's Thanos).

Everybody likes a terrifying funny guy.

Starr scares the shit out of me!

In terms of Homelander I was ready the wiki page and see that in the comics
he's killed by his own clone who's Black Noir. Obviously they can't go down that route here given we know Black Noir clearly isn't Homelander's clone
, but I wonder if there is the possibility for another Homelander that Edgar has had under wraps. The clone kills HL and assumes his place and is either more or less psychotic! You get to take out Homelander but don't have to lose Starr. Might be a trifle too pat.

Just came to mind and it would fit with the freak sickos that are producing the show - what if Homelander's son is present at the final battle and kills Homelander only to be so far twisted in the meantime by Vought or others that he takes on Homelander's position and becomes the new Homelander. Imagine an adult Psycho and now a Teenager with even less self control and The Boys, chief amongst them Butcher, have to fight a terror teenager with Superpowers ( and it's Butcher's son!).

3x04 never became available when it was supposed to. People have been yelling and complaining for the past hour. But apparently if you access Prime Video through a hub like Fire TV, you can search for the episode through them and find it.

Man, A-Train in the last couple of seasons carries on taking one step and two steps back in becoming a genuine hero instead of remaining a vapid crony complicit in yet another innocent person's death (and like the Deep I keep seeing signs of a better, rather hurt person inside).

I was imagining Hugie’s powers to be a bit more embarrassing than just causing him to lose his clothes

He murdered quite many people. I am for redemption, but first he must pay the price for his crimes.

I guess I don’t have to worry about a love triangle.
We are going to need another reality tv show

Oh for the love of God - is there one normal person in the show? :brickwall::lol:

That was as fucked up as fucked up goes - Death by Dildo, Death by Superhamster, "Your dick's out!", "Are you fucked by stupid?". Where does one start and end with this show?

It's only 4 episodes in and i didn't think i could have been shocked anymore after the initial 3 but it just goes on, does it? And i love it.

Since GoT's Joffrey and Cersei i didn't love to hate a villain as much as Homelander while at the same time enjoying the skill of the actor/actress, it is just great. Occasionally i love over the top villains like Homelander and it was cool to see him put one over Edgar, even though Edgar got the last hit in when he left and it hit bullseye. I can't wait how Edgar will retaliate or if he simply sits back, rides out the storm and watches Homelander implode on international TV.

Robyn was perhaps the equivalent of a drunk driving fatality, still bad and irresponsible, but he didn't set out to kill her - he murdered Popclaw directly and (according to Homelander) facilitated Super-Sonic's offscreen murder, and that's more to do with A-Train still being in too deep with a ultra dangerous tyrant like Homelander.

Still a gutless and rather pathetic person, but understandable.

The problem is that in the original comics, the Supers were all just these 1-Dimensional jackasses which no redeeming qualities. The show can't make them TOO human, otherwise it strays too far from the source material.

Another thing that the series does better than the comic, is that in the source material it is absolutely not clear why the Supers are such idols. They never do anything super heroic, not even stopping bank robbers. And they have said more than once that there are very few super-villains (more money is made by being a hero). People truly believe they spend their time defending the Earth from alien invasions without asking any questions. If it were presented as a farce (like the WWE) where you pretend to believe it just for fun it would be fine. But even the news and politicians seem to play along. It's a little too much.

I truly think The Boys series ultimately made the right choice of making Vought's so-called "heroes" still have heroic qualities and fighting crime, while making A-Train not so much worse than Butcher really, makes it more nuanced and engaging.

Making the Vought supers far too one note unlikeable, hedonistic, and rather stupid like in the comics would take me out of the show - which is in part why the Diabological anthology hasn't quite the same depth as the parent series and why the Payback team's general stupidity seemed to be the side effect of a less effective Vought company before Stan Edgar took over.

It would also have been unrealistic. In the comics there are hundreds of super all like this, and nobody notices anything. In real life there is an infinity of journalists and paparazzi looking for even the smallest flaw in famous people. But in the comics they all go to orgies in Herogasm claiming to have to defend the Earth from an alien invasion, AND EVERYONE BELIEVES IT !!!! WTF?!?!

Yeah, but Vought American is too inept to stay in business - with the comic Seven's unveilling, they totally meddled and messed up in stopping 9/11 attack in pretty much full view of the US Military and mass media (while Payback in the series messed up a CIA operation that was highly embarrassing to start with and mostly got third party crooks killed).

And while it can be ignored as secondary canon fluff, at least Homelander in the Diabolical cartoon short made more of an initial attempt to minimise casualties and the accidental explosion erased incriminating evidence

So Hughie gets super speed then? That's interesting given his whole A-Train issues.

So guessing Soldier Boy has a new ability to rob other supes of their powers. That could come in very handy! Hoping it's temporary because I don't want Kimiko to die

I do really want Homelander to die however. Do we think A-Train really would have given up Supersonic? (I need to look up what his actual powers were!)

I do keep hoping Deep and Train can be redeemed but maybe not!

Dildo killing was interesting!

I can see why Vicky wants to make her daughter a supe but surely it's a huge risk, you have no idea what compound V will do to her.

I do love that despite everything Edgar was still incredibly calm

Can Butcher remotely get his team back on side?
