honestly the feeling that the TNG And DS9 pilots evoke to me (and I love both series) are mainly of boredom: those pilots just weren’t among the best episodes of the series. Voy’s was a bit better but still pretty generic imho. After watching the first two episodes I went back and watched the pilots of DS9/TNG/Voyager. Honestly, I can't say SNW is bringing back the same feeling yet. But I'll give it time.
"Could a new Trek show done in the 90's TNG/DS9 style work today?"
Well, that's what I was hoping for, too. One similar in general style to DS9/Voyager/TNG. To me, that's Star Trek.

It doesn't keep throwing a bunch of things at me every minute like Disco and Picard do.
Wow, that's...very much not one of my complaints about those shows.
When did I ever say it was a bad thing? It's not a complaint. If you look at my first post in this thread, I mentioned that I like Picard and Disco. I'm just saying that it's nice to have a Trek show with a slower pace again.
A slower pace...than Discovery and Picard...

The last season of both shows are not known for their breakneck speed.
Good thing, because that's quite difficult.I don't think it's a good idea to try to recapture the past.
Depends. It's not about recapturing the past.
