Since I couldn't add a poll to the original thread, here's a revamped one that will let our singers rise - or fall - based on the whims, adoration and personal biases of us the fans.

Haters of modern Trek have gone ballistic when characters have broken into song in any of the newest series, but Trek singing has a long & semi-glorious history. If we compile a list from all Trek series, it covers a lot of our favs. I KNOW I’m forgetting some, so please add to the list! And who is the best singer?

I thought Sisko had a good singing voice the one or two times we heard him. And of course Vic as he was played by a singer with an extensive recorded repertoire.

I realize Nichelle Nichols had a professional music career prior to Trek and released a couple albums during and after TOS. But to my ear she seems to have an exaggerated 'warbly' vibrato much of the time, and I don't find her singing voice to be as enjoyable as other singers of those years.

It’s got to be Picardo.
Yes, while we heard him sing a number of times, there were one or two instances in which his singing was dubbed, and I thought he could have held his own. So I wished we had gotten to hear his real singing voice on those pieces.

I’d actually vote Seven/EMH on the strength of Someone To Watch Over Me alone. A hologram teaching a cyborg to sing… How perfectly Star Trek.
It was a sweet moment, for sure. I still think it's great how they opened the DS9 documentary with some top-notch singing from some old favorites. :)

when did kirk and bones sing?

Anyone voting for someone other than Uhura, Vic, Doc, Seven, or Jurati needs serious help.

Sisko has a fantastic voice (as does Avery Brooks in real life!).

I'd definitely rank him over what we saw from Uhura during the series.

Also, one more thing, do we count Blue Skies by Isa Briones as being sung also by Soji?

Or is that out of universe...
