What are your top 3 Star Trek television shows?

I have loved all of them(with the exception of TAS as I never watched it) but if i had to rank them it would probably be something along these lines:
1) TNG - This is my favorite trek series by far..
2) VOY - This is a close second for me, Love the aspect of being stuck in another part of the galaxy, the whole resetting the ship each episode to factory condition was weird to me tho.
3) PIC - Thought it was much better then some give it credit for and I really enjoyed the second season.

4) ENT - Despite issues with the ending and some of the time travel plots just hurting my brain, still liked this show and recently rewatched it
5) TOS
6) DS9 - This one i liked the dominion story line, but the rest while good, i just never felt compelled to rewatch it.
7) DIS - This one is hit or miss, I do like season 3 or 4 but i didn't care much for 1 and 2 and there are aspects of the show that irritate me sometimes like the endless discussing how everyone feels when they are in a crisis. I still hope we get a section 31 show tho

That happened with other shows, like Doctor Who, as well. There was a book once sold, which had a section about fandom and how they hated every new Doctor. Several years would go by, someone shows a clip or snippet, then the whole era got reappraised. No era falling into that category ever became the best-ever, but attitudes to some stories were softened. I believe the book in question was "The Completely Useless Encyclopedia", which also has its own counterpart for Star Trek and written by the same authors. Whether or not people like the humor is, naturally, subjective.

Technically the poll is asking for the three best series per poll responder. That doesn't mean SNW is the worst show, only most people didn't consider it the best show. Some people could have SNW as being their fourth best - or even first place best - despite one episode having been aired yet, which is no less valid as people who thought Jo Martin was one of the best modern Doctor Who incarnations despite having only ~30 minutes of total screen time compared to Jodie Whittaker's ~1400. The power of perspective is impressive and does have its moments, regardless.

I don't remember what i said earlier, but since that time, I've (finally) watched all of VOY, PIC S2 and DSC S4 have concluded...and SNW is fresh on the scene.

So, here's my heartfelt answer:

I love TOS. It's far-and-away the best Star Trek series, and may be a top 5 television series of all time.

DS9 is second. Although it doesn't have a ton of re-watch value for me, because it's 7 frigging seasons long and I don't have time for that...it's really an amazing show with fantastic characters and it pushed the franchise into different and compelling directions that we haven't really seen before or since.

And....I really like all the rest, but it is very difficult for me to rank them. I thought I didn't care much for ENT, but I rewatched that about 4 years ago and I liked it. I didn't like VOY very much, but I watched/re-watched that and I enjoyed it and was sad when I finished. TNG has some great high-points (perhaps more than any other series) but is kept down by the intense levels of boredom I feel watching many other outings. I watch all the new stuff faithfully. DSC is wildly different (which I love), but also wildly flawed. PIC is very much the same. I don't invest much in animated Star Trek, but I love PRO and I find LD to be uneven but very watchable, mainly just as a silly love-fest of all things Trek.

So....I really TRULY love it all.

I like SNW, but it's not breaking into my Top 3. It remains TOS, DSC, and PIC.

On a side-note: Now that I think about it, in my First-Run Star Trek Viewing Experience, watching "The New Adventures of the Starship Enterprise!" is actually the exception for me, not the rule. I watched Star Trek first-run from 1991-1999 and then from 2017-Present. So, after my first three years as a fan, my experience watching Star Trek first-run has been DS9/VOY followed by DSC/PIC, with BSG in the middle as a substitute from 2005-2009. So dark, serialized, and not on the Enterprise is my norm.

Strange New Worlds is actually the Strange New Experience for me. Not the other way around.

That is why I used the phrase "future consideration." The poll settings allow you to change your vote at any point in the future...

It all depends on the person and how strongly they believe in the Top 3 they already have. I don't know where I'll place SNW amongst everything else, but I don't see it knocking TOS off of where I have it and I still like DSC and PIC better, so that would place it out of my Top 3 right off the bat.

I genuinely don't understand how you can come to these conclusions on the basis of one episode. I wouldn't want to rate any of the established Trek shows on the basis of their first seasons, never mind first episodes. At the moment we're in a position to rank series pilots. That's it.
