Henry Alonso Myers basically spells out Kirk's role in a Cinemablend article:



He also goes on to confirm that Kirk is simply a character on the show and absolutely not taking over for Anson.

I'll believe it when I see it. Given the fan squeeing over the Kirk news my skepticism level is at an all time high for this news.

I want to be excited but I'm not there yet. Season 1 might be all.

So after seeing Rob April, T'Pring, and Sam Kirk pop up in the pilot episode, it makes me wonder how many legacy characters we'll actually see pop up through the first season let alone the series.
