Is this season meant to have a 24-like pace?

It's like each episode only covers six hours or something. I mean, ep3 or 4, we were told the launch was in two days. Since then we've had the gala, Renee going into quarantine, Picard getting arrested, fighting all those borg, and only now are we moving on to showing the launch.

If that's the case, I don't think it's worked. 24 did a great job of ratcheting up tension (with that ticking clock helping). The pace in Picard: Season 2 by comparison has been leisurely at times. If it was more like 24, I imagine there would be more focus on Renee Picard and less of Jean-Luc's repressed traumatic childhood memories.

If that was the intent, it’s certainly been done poorly. Since 24 when it originally aired had no problem letting a story unfold on a week-to-week basis, even in its 9th season and with its spinoff show Legacy when the episode ordered was reduced from 24 episodes to 12. I don’t know why PIC is having problems other than they stretched a season of 24 into three days, yet have only 10 hours of tv time to cover it all. Perhaps if the La Sirena crew literally only had day, their behaviour could be excused since they have such a short amount of time to process everything.

Even 24:Legacy was better than this. And Legacy was derivative of the very first season of 24 minus all the legacy characters that made 24 famous, bar Tony Almeida.
