The USFL is back? Why?

Was watching a Tampa Bay Vipers (XFL) game from 2020 and Chicken Salad (De’veon Smith) was their starting RB.

I just come across something called the American Spring Football League, and they want to play in 2023. Imagine how great the QB play will be if the ASFL, XFL and USFL all exist and play at the same time.

I honestly only see one of the three actually playing in 2023. Technically, Major League Football is still out there gearing up to play.

Eventually the need for QB will be so great that Christian Hackenberg will be in play once again.

I'm about a 3 hour drive from Birmingham. I am thinking about going down to see the games one weekend.

The old USFL is suing for infringement. If the new USFL loses, how much would it cost to change uniforms and logos? Would they fold instead?

I think the old USFL gets a piece of ownership or a big fat check if they win, though I don’t think this version will be around long enough or have any real assets by the time it goes to trial.

There was an actual league called The Spring League where the players didn't get paid and anyone without NFL experience had to pay them to try out. The league only paid for room and board. Supposedly that one was profitable, but the guy in charge (who also did the Fall Experimental Football League) shut it down to do the USFL.

These spring leagues are just money laundering operations right?

The rumored cost of startup for the XFL in 2020 was claimed at $150-200 million dollars. Someone should definitely audit those books.

That was some of the worst offensive football I’ve seen in my life.

Did you watch any AAF games? That might've been the worst QB play I've seen. But it did result in the Mike Bercovici hit, so there's that.

I noticed there was no helmet cam or drone during last night’s game.

Incredible. A complete lack of awareness by the QB. The pocket didn't collapse, it evaporated! Great impression of Nathan Peterman by Bercovici.

Maulers vs. Stars, today at Noon on FOX. In case anyone is interested.
