Here’s their article on season 2 from back then: https://www.theilluminerdi.com/2021/04/20/picard-characters-time-travel/

Their speculations are somewhat off, but the character sheets themselves that they quote are accurate (except for the names of course but then the names on those sheets are almost never the actual final names of the characters).
It's odd that they were looking for an actor who resembled the actor who played Robert to play Maurice. Maybe whoever made the description for the casting call put in the wrong actor.

And the code name for Picard's mother was 'Marie', same name as Robert's wife.

In the Ready Room interview with Patrick Stewart a few weeks ago, at the time of the interview I think Patrick had said that they were almost finished with season 3 (2 more episodes I believe). Unless I am not remembering correctly, I thought he also said John DeLancie had wrapped filming a few weeks before that interview - which sounds like he would be in season 3?

I don’t know if the actor suggestion was added as speculation or if it was part of the character sheet. The article mixes a LOT of speculation with the actual character descriptions. Or the original plan for the plot was indeed a little different. Things change a lot from character sheet releases to actual scenes being shot. I mean not even the actors who are cast are being told who they’re gonna play. James Callis said in an interview that he originally had no idea he was going to play Maurice Picard - he thought he was only playing the psychologist.

Yup, that’s accurate. Either Sir Patrick really got his timeframes wrong or John de Lancie really is in season 3. So far there’s only one interview where de Lancie said he wasn’t part of season three but a whole lot of other hints that seemed to indicate otherwise. Maybe he’s indeed only in the final scene of season 3 and Jean-Luc becomes a Q and this is the “unexpected” ending Sir Patrick was talking about… would make sense that no one wants to spoil THAT surprise. ;)

We had a lot of fun, breaking this one down on The Artificial Tango this week!

Donna Murphy and Wendy Hughes are dearly departed, that just leaves Jennifer Hetrick, which might be awkward depending how far her character got with Q.

They said it was part of the casting call, and were also a bit confused.

Then it’s indeed possible someone confused the actor names OR the original plot was supposed to feature younger Robert instead of younger Maurice, who knows. I mean Robert and Maurice were both not exactly nice to Jean-Luc when he was young. Or they had something else in mind entirely. I think I remember Goldsman saying that they had much more time than usual to work on the plots for seasons 2 and 3 due to the Covid break that basically all of Hollywood took. It’s possible that they revised a lot.

Donna Murphy isn't dead. And Anij could still be well alive and largely unchanged due to how long the Ba'ku live.

Oh, wait, this is Guy performance art. Never mind. Carry on.

Happy to be misinformed.

Sat through a season of "What about Joan" recently and thought Donna was excellent.

Yeah, and it's been 26 years in-universe since INS which would more than account for any difference in how she looks once you factor in traveling offworld.

Some of those numbers in there are not correct.
Alright. Hopefully this one is more accurate.

It also sheds some light on why Latino's seek jobs in immigration enforcement and the answers are a little more complicated than them waking up day and saying they're going to be "race traitors" and "betrayers". Don't get me wrong, it's still an unconscionable situation, but as a Latino myself I'm trying to inform myself and understand why this is happening rather than making blanket statements.

She doesn't look bad for 63. Could pass for 50. They could always say Anji decided to begin traveling again since Insurrection and began to age a bit.

I wonder if a fetus can grow up into a baby if their growth rate is suppressed by metaphasic radiation?

I suspect if Anji wants to get preggo, she has to go off world.

How did they explain all those children in the movie?

Children age normally. The 12 year old was 12. They stop aging as adults.

What’s unclear is why the population wasn’t much larger. Given the number of children in the movie, reproduction wasn’t especially unusual. Must have been a really tiny population back when they kicked the Sona off the planet.
