Well, It is mostly wishfull yes, requiring every writer to see every episodes is probably asking too much, but for 8 million dollar per episodes they could at least have hired a consultant who does know all of Startrek, who could have helped the writers keep the script a least mostly consistent. I understand this is near impossible especialy with some of the TOS episodes but they could at least make character histories consistent. For that matter, why didn't Patrick Steward himself ensure his own family history was consistent, like mentioning his brother?

No one knows ALL of Star Trek.

There are over 800 episodes and thirteen feature films. That's a LOT of material for anyone to absorb.

The Berman-era eps contradict THEMSELVES (the producers didn't want to dump a ton of backstory on syndication viewers).

Back then, the question every season was "How do we fill our order of 22?"

Nothing in "Monster" precludes or otherwise contradicts the existence of Robert Picard or in any way establishes Jean-Luc as an only child. The flashbacks in "Monster" are extremely stylized, highly symbolic flashbacks focusing on the particular relationship Jean-Luc had with his mother and father and with one particular incident in which Robert seems so far not to have been involved. That is not a continuity error.

Also, Yvette mentioned in the first episode of the season that his brother was at school:

Yvette Picard in PIC S02E01 The Star Gazer said:
And you've never seen skies like this at night, I promise you. There's magic here. Your father can root around out there in the dirt while your brother toils away at school.

So it seems like Robert wasn’t around during this time. There’s no failure in not repeating the information this episode.

26, actually.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed Season One - the only thing I didn't like was the whole RoboPicard thing because it just seemed to be a way for the writers to have their cake and eat it by giving him a 'moment of glory' send off only to undo it. Plus, it was weird for Data to insist on dying as it's an essential part of being human, only for Picard to cheat death via the Golem. I really liked the La Sirenna stuff and it was nice to see a different side of the Star Trek universe outside of the Federation. Given the ending, I had hoped for more of that to be honest as I liked the idea of Picard and co. doing good independently whilst travelling around the universe, making it something of a cross between Star Wars and Doctor Who .

I haven't been overly fond of this season though. I like Q a lot more as a tricksterish frenemy rather than an out and out villain. Plus, a lot of the writing feels contrived. I also wonder whether spending this long in 21st Century Earth was a bad idea. I'm reminded that The Voyage Home is only a couple of hours long and has a much lighter tone.

We have never had a ST series focus on one character. I do not understand how people compare this to other series.

The dream sequence!!!! That was total non sequitur and went on... and on... and on... and we've gone from not damaging time to bringing the doctor AND her kid to the starship to maximize it. The queen plot has promise, but it's just screaming and singing.

Agree with the contrivances that make up this show just to convey a divisive message as per Hollywood's norm -- attempting to break down honest communications between classic liberals (my side) and new progressive liberals (moderate left today) to honestly debate the manner to achieve what are generally common goals by thrusting wedge edge-case issues... whereas STD pulls the alien destructive wave is actually a "wall" silliness and trot out a CGI-slimmed Stacey Abrahams, this show couldn't settle for metaphors and had to depict actual nazi rapey-minded white dudes all over the place especially in border patrol... never mind the majority of border patrol officers are Hispanic -- at least here in Texas.

Because they don't want us discussing work visas, quotas, and unemployment issues in US versus benefit of increasing workforce like normal, rational human beings -- They want us to import endless waves of people without patriotic identity that will vote for free stuff (hopefully more than once where we can block racist ID laws) giving them endless power. The worst part is, I mostly travel / live part time in Colombia, and more often than not friends cannot visit me because the visa quotas are eaten up by the bodies the cartel is shoving across the border (after raping almost every woman and loading up as many as they can with fentanol balloons).
Umm, I guess you don't realize that many producer positions these days are more honorary and for prestige than anything. It also allows the production company pay some people money but yet they don't really do anything for various reasons.

$10000 per director times 40 = 4 million down the drain. That is a lot of money being wasted.

I wouldn't mess with CBS. They have connections with the FBI, CSI, NCIS, and the NYPD, so you might find yourself on the FBI: Most Wanted list for libel against Alex Kurtzman.

Say it ain't so, Angry Joe!? Whoever the fuck you are, this is a devastating day for Trekkies everywhere. Or no one gives a shit.

The character is named Agent Wells. The timeship Relativity that temporal Agent Ducane served on was a Wells Class Starship, named after H.G. Wells, author of The Time Machine. I wonder if they're hinting at something time travel related???

Angry Joe should change his name to Calm The Fuck Down Joe and have a little patience.

I think everyone would rather you watch Merlin again.

I will. I am on series 3 out of a 5 series. Have you watched it?

I didn't remember it exactly. All I remembered were the zeroes.

Then maybe one should not "quote" lines AND make disparaging comments based on those erroneous quotes.

I thought it was funny and sad that Picard was issued the command "Zero Zero Zero Zero, Zero Zero Zero Zero".
I can almost hear Starfleet saying, "Let's give the old boy something he can remember."

Merlin? I've seen the Sam Neill miniseries from 1998, seen Season One of the Cursed reimagining on Netflix in 2020, but not seen the BBC Merlin from 2008-2012 yet, but I've been meaning to one day.
