i don't suppose anyone wants to discuss the fact that the whole thing with the uniform was in a hallucination and that his fractured mental state might allow for different eras' badges and color schemes and textures to just be set to random?
Pretty restrained all things given. "Star Trek AoD" comes off worse in the exchange.Terry Matalas? Exasperated? Lashing out against fans?

Picard's mind really likes the '70s look. 2370s, that is.
Yes. They all have magic genes that ensure their ancestors of the same sex all look like them. Or perhaps they lie to their spouses and ensure that all ancestors are clones and make sure the clones follow suit. But then why is Baltar Picard's Dad, shouldn't that be Picard? And why does Guinan not look like Whoopi? Will another Soong, that looks like Brent Spiner show up in a future episode to explain all this like we got for the Klingons?
The resemblance between Callis and Siddig was much commented on in the BSG threads in these parts, at least early in the show's run before people just got used to James Callis as Baltar. Ron Moore even commented on it in one of his podcasts (which later became the DVD commentaries). As I recall, he said that he'd never noticed it until somebody pointed it out, and after that he couldn't un-see it.
What if the colours are set to Confederate?
There could be left over memories from the host floating around upstairs that were supposed to be flushed out when Federation Picard assimilated Confederate Picard. Something similar was covered in Travellers near the middle.

These people aren't doing such a bang-up job telling this story that they ought to expend energy in their free time trying to one-up random nitpickers like Star Trek AoD.
If said random nitpicker happens to opine that Matalas, et al. aren't writing just plain awesome brilliant teleplays for this show, well, they've likely got that in common with quite a few people who don't waste their time baiting smugly self-satisfied TV people.
But then, if Matalas really had all that confidence in their work they wouldn't be so easily drawn into shooting obsessive little fishies in barrels like Star Trek AoD.
They really shouldn't get drawn in to these things. Leave it to us fans.
Star Trek AoD is not a random nitpicker and not a troll.
It's a (small) Star Trek podcaster with his own fansite.
He likes NuTrek, he likes Discovery, he writes about "Characters of Color in Star Trek" on his site, and he likes Stacey Abrams in the Discovery season 4 final.
In his podcast, you could hear that his enthusiasm for Picard season 2 took a nosedive and he was not happy at all with the latest episode.
He is a fan of NuTrek and this is how NuTrek showrunners react to criticism.
That Terry Matalas is so thin-skinned is telling.
So, you're saying that it's unlikely that he's a troll. That's good enough, I didn't call him a troll. I suggested that he was baiting Matalas because, ah, he was baiting Matalas.
And he is, apparently, not merely a random nitpicker but a random nitpicker who does podcasts. A dime a dozen.
Saw some other rude responses from Matalas to some questions. One said they liked the show and was asking about why no one checked on those security guards that were knocked out. Matalas said that poster can write a Fan fiction about it. Came off as pretty rude.
It was a pretty silly question. When you're being chased by bad guys trying to kill you, you don't stop to check to see if they're okay, you keep running until you escape.
And Picard & Company were planning to undo this version of the 25th Century anyway.
Pretty major 12 Monkeys easter egg reference this week, although admittedly I missed it on my first watch, because I didn't read the signage. The bar BorgJurati goes into to break the window is named for a major character who started as an antagonist and eventually became an ally.
One possible reference in "Fly Me to the Moon" that I never mentioned (although someone might have have; I don't think I caught up on that thread): one of the security personnel in the surveillance room mentioned that "Ramsay said to get her prints". That may have been a reference to Cole's BF José Ramse. (The spelling is different, but they are pronounced the same.) But it could also be just a generic name.
If I rewatch an episode, I usually have the subtitles on, and one thing I noticed is that the subtitles identify the psychiatrist as "Maurice" right at the beginning of the episode, which I thought was an odd choice, since it's supposed to be a big reveal later.
Nice to see James Callis in this. I wouldn't mind seeing him return to Star Trek in another role in the future.

Imagine a Stargazer series with young Picard, sending letters home to his mother and father in France who act as narrators for each episode, reading the letter, who keep breaking from the text because Maurice thinks his son is a pretentious dick, and mother is off message in lala land.
