Some guy at the Diamondbacks game keeps yelling, "Pitcher's got a big butt." Is that what counts for ballpark wit these days?

He was most likely projecting from his bier cup(s).

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that movie. I didn't think it was very good. Especially with Little Big League coming out during that time.

Let's not say things we can't take back, Little Big League wasn't any great shakes, either.

Everyone knows the One True Baseball Movie of the mid-'90s was The Sandlot.

In Rookie of the Year, didn't the Cubs go straight to the World Series after beating the Mets in a one-game playoff?

Wow, just logged-in to the MLB app on my streaming dongle, and they now allow you to listen to a different audio feed than the audio on the video that you are watching. Now I can watch the national video feed for my beloved St. Louis Cardinals while listening to the Cardinals announcers down-homey radio feed instead of the television announcers.

Yup. The movie was very loose with the rules of baseball.

That's fantastic!

Well, let's see how many Mets hitters get plunked tonight... :sigh:

Why, just because Lindor got hit by an escaped pitch? Beyond retaliation being bullshit, I think you are overestimating teams' willingness to throw hands.

3 Cubs and 2 Brewers HBP today. Obv Contreras was one of the Cubs, the Brewers have a thing for hitting that Willie.

My second night of Savannah Bananas baseball was just as fun as the first...and Bill Lee redeemed himself by quickly getting three batters out.

20-year-old phenom Roki Sasaki threw a 19-strikeout perfect game for the Chiba Lotte Marines against the Orix Buffaloes. At one point, he struck out 13 in a row.

So how soon before he can become a Dodger or Yankee?

Isn't it like five or six years before they can ask to be posted?

If memory serves, Japanese players need nine years of service in order to become international free agents; prior to that, they can request to be posted anytime between November 1 - February 1. But their team is free to decline the posting request, and they often do unless it becomes clear that the player has no interest in continuing to play in Japan and would likely refuse to report.

Watching Kike Hernandez talking to the TV booth while also playing in the outfield and he even had to field the ball. Seems like that would be kind of distracting for the player.
