Kathryn Hays RIP

On to the next phase for Hays. "The Empath" was a wonderful, heartfelt episode which was as much about the care and loyalty between the Big Three as the story of why Gem was used in the experiment.

Hays would go on to have a reunion with Leonard Nimoy in 1972's "She'll Be Company for You", a third season episode of Rod Serling's Night Gallery, during Nimoy's brief period of playing very unsavory guys--in that case, a recent widower who was more than happy to see his wife (played by Hays) finally die from a lingering illness. You might imagine his troubles only started from that point forward.

I saw her in a (not very good) 1966 western called "Ride Beyond Vengeance" this weekend, which also featured Trek actors Paul Fix and Frank Gorshin. She was awfully pretty!

Sorry to hear this. She was in my least favorite OS episode, but she was a great performer and was good in everything I've seen her in.
