Synopsis:
Outer Range centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness. A thrilling fable with hints of wry humor and supernatural mystery, Outer Range examines how we grapple with the unknown.

At the onset of the series, the Abbotts are coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillersons (the gaudy owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch) make a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture. Wild revelations unfold as Royal fights to protect his family; through his eyes, we begin to see how time contains secrets held in the past and unsettling mysteries foreshadowed.

Limited series? If not, given Amazon's tendency to cancel shows without a proper ending (see, eg, the Tick, Utopia), I'll probably pass.

It's kind of already started, there are already two more Yellowstone spin-offs in the works, a modern one focused on another family that appeared on the mother show, and a second prequel set sometime in the early 1900s, I can't remember the exact year.
And there's a show that's started up on ABC about a family owned vineyard that gives off some Yellowstoneish vibes.
The CW also has their Walker reboot.
So, it's Yellowstone with supernatural stuff in it?
That's kind of the impression I got from the trailer and synopsis, but I like Yellowstone and I like supernatural stuff, so that's fine with me.

Another show where New Mexico stands in for Wyoming, similar to Longmire. I love that my state is getting exposure like this, as opposed to things like Breaking Bad.

I’m about halfway in. Definitely going to be a slow burn and one of those shows you have to actually pay attention too.

Yeah, but I liked it. The characters are all pretty interesting, and they set up some intriguing mysteries. I'm very curious where things are going to go after the last scenes in Episode 2.
Since the episodes just came out today, and I'm not sure how many of other people have watched it, I'll spoiler code my more detailed thoughts and questions.
I was surprised they actually revealed what happened after Autumn pushed him into the hole, I had expected that to be the big overarching mystery for the whole season.
I guess this means that everything he was throwing into the hole, including Trever Tillerson's body is now in the future.
I'm curious if Rebecca's disappearance is somehow tied to whatever is happening with the hole. I find it hard to believe this isn't all connected somehow.
Had we seen the women in the old picture Royal pulled out before Autumn showed up at the end of episode 2 before? I didn't get a good enough look to tell if I recognized them.
I'm curious how far in the future the other side of the hole is. All we know is it's 2 years after Royal died, but we don't know when that happened, it could be a lot longer than that.
There's also the question of how Wade Tillerson apparently knows about the hole, and why he's so determined to get it.

Watched the first 2 episodes, finding this series incredibly boring, will pass

This is a pretty good slow burn series. I wish their were Spoiler tags at the beginning of this thread because there is some cool stuff worth speculating on. Can tags be put on the thread title?

Oops sorry, I just plain forgot to put a spoiler tag in the title when I started the thread. If a mod could add one it would be appreciated.
I haven't watched episodes 3 & 4, but I will sometime in the next few days.

Just got caught up with the latest episode. The old guy who speaks about a marriage being between a man and a woman during the church service is a friend of mine here in Albuquerque. I didn't realize he had been cast in a role for the show, so that was a pleasant surprise. He's actually a very well known and respected stage director/actor named Jim Cady.

This show just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I wish it would pick up the pace a bit, but I'm still enjoying it overall.

I've been watching this, and it's decidedly a weird one.

I have a theory that the character played by Imogen Poots is actually the young daughter, time looped on herself, especially since Poots' character claims amnesia from the time she was about 9.

Yeah, we definitely need a spoiler tag on this one lol

I'm actually liking it. Lots of interesting bends this one can take

You called it! I did not see that one coming, just as I completely missed Royal being temporally displaced from the 19th century.

This show reminds me of the original run of Twin Peaks from back in the 80's. Granted, Twin Peaks was much weirder, but the supernatural aspects of this story line are starting to build on one another in a pretty satisfying fashion. I appreciate that although the show has centered on Royal Abbott, the other characters are also being given excellent arcs as well.

However, I could go the rest of my life without having to see Billy and Autumn sloppy-make-out again! :scream:
