What I liked about those extra scenes was that it gave me the feeling that I was actually watching a comic book arc that included scenes hinting at a much larger world--even though we aren't going to see a lot of that larger world now.

For me, I could never have sat through TSC in one sitting (especially in a cinema), but it was enjoyable to immerse myself in over a few different days, an hour or so at a time.
It is certainly worthwhile watching it; and the beauty of streaming is that it can be watched over multiple viewing sessions. I watched it a chapter or two at a time.
One thing that really stood out for me were the fight/action sequences...Snyder directs them really well so they tell a story. A really step up from the sequences in BVS.

Garbage would be around 90% of the MCU, and that's giving it a break.
If you're ashamed of comics and think they should all be those "grounded", creatively bankrupt sell-out movies.

None of them died, so there's that. And none of them were in INO movies either, because MCU doesn't sell-out like that either. They also refuse to pander to the Academy and choose to antagonize the Academy instead.
This performance in a comic movie got an Oscar Nom, says it all.

Why would the MCU or Marvel Studios care about the Oscars? They don't need them to boost sales and profile, which is all the Oscars are designed to do when you really look at it.
Marvel movies have been consistently financial successes, some of them have easily broken the billion dollar benchmark and they are realistic enough to know they'll probably never draw a big crowd in the movie arthouse community.
They make entertaining popcorn summer blockbuster movies and they're very good at it, they don't need support from any side.
I liked the Snider verse and the MCU. I don't understand why some are so divided.
Because some fit the "nerd" sterotype very well, and don't live in the real world at all and think things like that matter.
