Yes, I’m sure some of you will be thinking “didn’t he do that some time ago” but unfortunately it’s a rather sad story, not really one for mockery. Bruce is to retire due to aphasia, which affects the ability to communicate.

The theory now is that he did all those awful direct to DVD/streaming films because they were a way of providing for his family before he was forced to retire. Which really does put it all in a new light.

How awful. I hope it's not too severe--that would be terrifying.

Man, that sucks. Neve been a Bruce Willis fan, but enjoyed him immensely in Moonrise Kingdom.

Die Hard and Die Hard 2... OH! and Pulp Fiction are my all time favorite movies Willis has done. Die Hard is still a Christmas tradition for movie watching with the fam. He had a tremendous career and all I can do is salute him with Seagrams and look back.

The Fifth Element, Red and Red2 are my personal favorites. Not to mention Moonlighting.

The original Die Hard flicks are absolutely must watch classic action movies too.

    And let us not forget...

Terrible diagnosis. Now we know why he’s been taking noticeably lighter work in recent years- he had to. That’s pretty awful.

    Sad news.
Look at his back catalogue and you will see that BW certainly wasn’t averse to taking risks.

I've long seen speculation that his recent penchant for doing multiple straight-to-video movies a year was due to declining health, but it's still sad to see it confirmed.

    Very sad.

As for the idea that this is why he's made dogshit recently, it's hard to say. In the statement, they say "recently" but Bruce has been appearing in those cheap garbage movies where he does almost nothing for at least seven years now.

The razzies added a new category this year, "the worst performance by Bruce Willis in a Bruce Willis movie". There were eight entries. The winner was "Cosmic Sin", which scored 3% on Rotten Tomatoes, in case you're wondering.

    Roger Ebert.com said.
"To suggest that Bruce Willis is phoning in his performance in Cosmic Sin is an insult to telephone communication, which can be an effective way of conveying important information and genuine emotion."

Yeah, he doesn't need to keep doing this crap. Enjoy your retirement sir.

Sad. But not surpising. I started hearing stories on some less than reputable gossip sites a year or so ago about his health and kinda dismissed them. Knowing now that's probably why he was doing so many straight to DVD movies in order to provide for family makes the Razzies and the Cracked.com articles a little more cruel.
Die Hard and the Sixth Sense are my favorite performances.

Been a fan since "discovering" him on Moonlighting. Sad news, especially for someone's who job is communicating.

That's never stopped Sylvester Stallone. *ducks*

I wonder how his career might have been different if his breakthrough role weren't an action role.

While he might not have done much good stuff in the last 30 years (remembers 12 Monkeys and Unbreakable and rethinks), his 80s stuff on Moonlighting and Die Hard explains why he remained a name.

Not much good stuff in the past 30 years, besides Unbreakable and 12 Monkeys?!

Not a fan of The Sixth Sense, The Fifth Element, and Pulp Fiction?

Also, not to mention, I think Willis is fantastic in RED, RED 2, and Planet Terror, just to name three others.

Terrible condition to have. Sounds scary. :(

I think my favourite of his is actually a fairly recent movie released in 2019, Motherless Brooklyn with Edward Norton.
