Star Trek Strange New Worlds Security Chief La'an Character Trailer (Teaser Clip Promo Sneak Peek)

A new teaser trailer on a german channel and it shows the forward section of the over sized bridge.

The bridge lighting seems to be pretty bad like the interference fringes of a slut experiment. Bright dark bright dark...

The so called security chief looks more like twigs with her puny frame. Maybe they should swap with the burly Uhura who looks like
her twin on STD last few episodes. I think she was an ambassador and called Ndoye and betrayed Micheal.

Seems to be blood marks and charcoal bodies on the planet.

The shuttle looks bigger on the inside than on the outside.

Or delete this one, since the trailer has already been posted in the Uhura forum?

If they’re going to show multiple trailers with multiple characters, maybe there should just be one thread for all of them.

I locked the other one and moved it here for tidiness, not knowing it had been restarted here already. We don't generally delete threads.

I am wrong in thinking she has Tasha Yar vibes?

There's a brief shot of what looks like some officers wearing Enterprise-era uniforms. Is it at all possible she could be a surviving embryo from Arik Soong's stash?

From my guess roughly 10 seconds, though the only appearance is a circle shoulder patch that is unclear.

It does appear to be a flashback to her youth, so might track that what she's wearing matches (or harmonizes) with the Disco uniforms. There does seem to be a hint of copper on the shoulders.

I would not be surprised if a) Section 31 continued Arik Soong's research into Augmentation, and, b) that there was a colony of Augments that had been "neutralized" as part of a cover up. So, I am going to call it: Ceti Alpha 6 was deliberately blown up in order to destroy the Augment colony on Ceti Alpha 5. Spock was the one who suggested Ceti Alpha 5 because La'an knew where the secret Augment colony was, and passed that onto Kirk (which he suggested as a place where to put Kahn and his people there). Later S31 learns about it, and proceeds to neutralize it by creating a fake natural disaster. JMO.

I don't know what exactly, but something with her voice and the way she delivers her dialogue is kind of reminding me of Drummer from The Expanse.

I was going to post this yesterday but thought it was just me. Yeah, I thought of Camina as well.

Engineering looks really cool (and it looks like they took some inspiration from the inside of the nacelles from TAS), I wonder if it'll spawn a little side room that doesn't require all that expensive CG tho.
If anything, seems like they've made the ship even bigger than the already upscaled size from Disco S2:lol:

They don't seem to have sorted out their rank insignia continuity: she introduces herself as "Lieutenant" but is clearly wearing Lieutenant Commander stripes in the trailer, as is Spock.

I guess it'll keep the hardcore TOS fans happy that they're following another great TOS tradition...! :D

I have personally been enjoying all of these trailers. To me everything looks good: the visuals, the characters, the ship interiors, and I have really enjoyed all the dialog (though, I see some people have not). This is all making me even more excited than before for this show to start. Yay, episodic Trek with stories and themes!
