News Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiering on May 27

Vader has to have the mask on at all times so the hayden shots must be pre-suit.
As other's have noted, this is not correct that it must be on all the time. We have cracks showing the eyes in Rebels, and video games showing nearly the whole helmet gone, save for the bottom half.

His helmet is off when inside of his meditation chamber/bacta tank.
Which with all his burns and disfigurement makes it almost impossible to make out a face. And it's not like a conversation can be had in the tank.
We see him without his mas in ESB, albeit the back of his head.

For a very brief moment of time while it's belooks. on. I doubt they are bringing Hayden back for just a quick looksy.

My impression from ESB and/or Rogue One is that he spends a lot of time in his bacta tank without the mask.
Which I'm not arguing. I meant while he's breathing air and out of the tank he can't have his mask off. And he can not have a conversation while in that tank. So I doubt Hayden is coming back just to hang in the tank.

I mean, you've been proven wrong already, based on TESB alone. To review:

And, no, that's not just the helmet top getting lowered down. You can see the inside of the face plate and "mouth" in the part that's being lowered down and attached to the rest of him. It's not like this is anything new. That's a canonical shot of Vader from over 40 years ago, with his mask off, while he's breathing air, not in a bacta tank, and not dying, but rather getting ready to do many more important things in the saga.

Yes it is. That is all that is happening here. The helmet is put on and then he turns to talk. He's not out of it long and he isn't having a conversation with it off. The one time it was off for any period of time he died.

He was also not in his meditation pod in ROTJ when his mask came off. The air in the pod could be specially processed.

And I don't know what you mean, by, "Yes, it is." If you mean, "Yes, it is just the top part of the helmet getting lowered down," then you are wrong, because the movie shows otherwise, right there.

Yes, Hayden was in the suit for one scene at the end, after we'd spent a whole movie before that seeing his face. If he was going to be in the suit for all of his appearances in the series, I doubt very much they would have gone through the trouble and money of bringing back Hayden if we were never going to see his face. It would have been a lot easier to just go with some cheap stunt guy if he was going to spend all his time in the suit.

I don't revisit the prequels often. But on a recent viewing of ROTS, it struck me that JEJ delivers Vader's dialog after the mask is donned in a manner that's very much like Hayden Christensen's cadence when speaking as Anakin. "I- I, couldn't, have." I don't like that line delivery, but it was a great touch in terms of continuity. Older Vader in the OT has a much more assured and authoritative way of speaking.

Sure but this is all about fan service.

And? It can easily become so if they decide "Hey, people like the prequels now so now Vader can be seen without his mask!" Also, Hayden was in the suit in ROTS so not sure why this is an issue.

Some fans did take issue with Hayden being in the suit in ROTS because he's not as tall as David Prowse, by half a foot.

...and fandom will lose their shits (and not in a good way).
Meh. Well, the "fans" who still moan about and hate.. the Ewoks and RotJ, the 97 special editions, the prequels, actually get worked up about midichlorians, the "cartoons", the sequels, Book of Boba Fett, etc etc. I always think of that Willy Wonka meme "tell me again how much you love Star Wars"

I'm on the side of fandom who just loves Star Wars for Star Wars and see everything on the same level as everything else. So if there's a scene where we see Hayden behind the Vader mask in live action that will be awesome.
And that it'll invoke one of the best moments in the entire saga
