The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

So, as I described in another thread - I volunteered to watch over my neighbor's Guinea pigs for a couple of days while they went to Maui. No problem, they’re pretty low maintenance — docile, a bit skittish, but tell you when they’re hungry by a whistling noise, etc.

The only issue? They neglected to tell me Momma Pig was just a weeeee bit pregnant.. so I picked up a crate of three pigs on Thursday afternoon, and came downstairs on Friday morning to find seven Guinea pigs!:shrug::rofl::rofl:

One of the youngsters didn’t make it, unfortunately, but this one I must say has captured my heart… think I’m going to adopt him/her.

Allow me to introduce… ‘Mocha’:

It always amazes how wild animals can seem to understand when humans are helping them, or one of their group. I'm whales or sharks who will something stuck on them, and they'll swim right up to people, and wait for them to remove, and then once they do they'll swim past, almost like they're saying thank you, before they leave.
And a couple weeks ago a newborn foal that was one of the Salt River Wild Horses was in trouble, and when the people from the SRWH Management Group showed up the help, the rest of the herd just right there by them while they helped.
Sadly baby ended up needing more help, and the horses apparently realized it too, because the stallion walked up, sniffed it, and then moved the rest of the herd away.

Wow, that must have been a pretty big shock when you found them. OK, I'm not much of a guinea pig person, but even I have to admit, they're pretty cute.

Not all of them do but, Elephants are very intelligent (another reason to hate poachers) and India has a long history of cooperation between humans and Elephants.

Yeah, they are pretty smart, I follow a couple elephant sanctuaries out in Africa on Instagram, so I've seen a lot of elephants.
I got a smart phone today, so I'll start posting some more pictures and/or vidoes of my animal encounters on my bike rides and hikes. I won't take any of the animals that belong to people without getting their owners permission, but I will post any wild animals I see. Definitely try for the donkeys at the park next time we run into them.

I need a "How To" video or a course which will show me how train my own personal/loyal squad of Attack Squirrels to help me to safeguard my sack of...nuts.
