was thinking that maybe the crash site locale works both ways--perhaps Picard knew of some ancestors who'd branched out into Califonria winery. Makes more sense than taking the ship across the continent and over the Atlantic when it was in the process of crashing toward L.A. Hopefully the next episode will clarify the location, one way or the other.
It’s still night in the scenes on La Sirena, while it’s day in the LA scenes. Only way that makes sense is time zone diffidence

You can also see the chateau outside the window

I agree with some of that. However, they should not have called what happened with the Queen and Jurati assimilation then. It was more like a Vulcan mind meld. Think back to Picard mercy killing Ensign Lynch, who was begging him for help, in First Contact because "There was no way to help him." That's Borg assimilation. It's brutal, vicious, and very unpleasant. This euphoria they talked about this week. I don't buy it.
He was talking about his experience as Locutus, not the process of assimilation.

I would assume the euphoria hits once the assimilation process is completed and you've joined the Collective.

Bi?

You really think they stop at bi?

There are so many more options than just "two" in the Star Trek universe.

Sexy plants.

Sexy robots.

Sexy clouds.

Sexy quadrupeds.

Without any kink, everyone starts at pansexual.

You forgot fish....

I mean, it was Picard who said it; so... Yes?

During World War III, there would have been no one to stop Quebec from becoming France... Not even France.

Meanwhile France invested a lot of time, money and blood into America, and they have just been biding their time since Last of the Mohicans, waiting for a moment of weakness like the collapse of the central government and hundreds of nuclear detonations, to take Lousiana back.

(Being a dumb foreigner, I had to look at a map to see how big Louisiana was. It's a third of country that exists today, but what I really thought Lousiana looked like was the demilitarized zone between Imperial Japanese America and NAZI America from the Man in the High Castle.)

California could be France.

They're about to crash into Los Angeles,%70 of nav controls are off line, they pivot and seconds later they are crashing into the south of France?

**ck off.

Later, 17 minutes, 13 seconds into the episode, Picard says "The queen says that there is someone here who can help us, in this time, here in Los Angeles"

So why did Picard say that he was crashing into "home"?

Either they crashed into the land that would one day become Starfleet head quarters in San Fransisco, which is "home" if you squint, but not Los Angeles.

Or Chateau Picard moved from France to America, Los Angeles, possibly because the vineyard shut down after Robert and Rene died, and the government claimed the unused land, which later wasn't still available by the time Picard retired...

Hell, Marie Picard could still be running Chateau Picard in France very successfully, but did not want to share her home or her business with an old man she did not want to accidentally see naked while sharing a bathroom.

Labarre, sounds like La Brea, which is what Picard could have said in Family if his mouth was full of cauliflower.

Meanwhile there's a Labarre in LOUISIANA.

I tell you, the French took it back.

You short changed them and they have always resented it.

France isn’t as advanced as the rest of the world in 2024 which is why Picard knew it would be safe to crash there. :)
