i think this is one of the best pieces of music made for a video game, ever. FF6, South Figaro theme "Kids Run Through the City"

and on a more personal level, Oregon Trail 2 theme as it was our biggest seller while I briefly worked for Learning Company. I was a tester for Oregon Trail 3, but OT2 was more fun and had a better soundtrack :D

Wait, they had Oregon Trail sequel? I'm assuming they still had to deal with dysentry. I'm only ever familiar with the first game which seems to almost always be the only one referenced.

The music from the death scene in Shadow Of The Beast II. It was an insanely difficult game so I heard this music a lot.

The music from Escape From Colditz. I played it for hours trying to complete it.

OT2 was a lot more involved. You could also take the Mormon trail to Utah or go to California on the gold rush. It was a lot of fun.

you can play it here

https://playclassic.games/games/educational-dos-games-online/play-oregon-trail-ii-online/play/#

(supposedly you can play it here but I could not get it to work well. if you ever do play it, some hints:
1: scurvy is a thing in this game and it will kill you after a couple of months. buy canned fruit, or if don't have room/money, buy vinegar instead. I know vinegar doesn't actual cure scurvy but the devs didn't.

2: if you want to hunt, buy salt.

3: bring a water jug, checker board, and warm clothes. do NOT buy the Conestoga wagon.

4: oxen, not mules or horses

5: if starting the Mormon Trail don't start before the actual Mormon migration began, or you'll be stuck in a camp outside Nauvoo Illinois for years while you slowly starve to death.

As much as people shit on Castlevania II: Simon's Quest back in the day, I always enjoyed it and always loved Bloody Tears:

Also we burned up Mortal Kombat 4 on Nintendo 64, so this song always brings back good memories of all night game sessions with friends:

Thanks! Tips and tricks from the studio are the best! :)

most of the Eve Online soundtrack brings back good memories, but i just can't dedicate the kind of time it takes to really enjoy Eve anymore. Plus they merged Dr Who into the game and that is screwed up.

Runescape has over 1000 individual pieces of music, even a song ABOUT the fact it has over 1000 individual pieces of music. But Lava Falls is pretty damn good. For the grindy-est game ever made, suddenly finding yourself surfing on a rock across a lava field to save a friend is one of the coolest and at the time most unexpected bits of the game.

Isn't the EVE thing just a crude cameo by Daleks?

Equinox 1986 that was fun

I had both systems in the 80s and frankly the Commodore had a better sound engine and just about everything else but I loved the Amstrad for the all in one design.

Many many hours spent playing this with my brother and the totally unfair AI. We were both equally shitty at screwing the other over with lightnings, stars, and blue shells.

if you ate Chex cereal in the 90's, you got a free copy of Chex Quest in the box.
and if you had a computer, you played that Chex Quest CD
best cereal based FPS soundtrack ever, until Chex Quest 2.

Chex Quest is part of a balanced breakfast.
